Yes DR Jane, Thats why I like to have all sorts of clothes for different events.  I hate to have to get something in a hurry for something like a wedding.  It is very stressful!

Great Lyrics.  Too Bad about George Reeves, so Sad.

For those of you unfamiliar with the Song, Here is the first verse:

My hero, the man of steel
My hero who could fly, who never bled
He put a bullet in his head
And it never should have hurt him
But the newspaper said
Superman is dead

I guess I'm pretty immature, but I giggle every time I read the name "Bi-Mart."      :)

In Lacey, there used to be a Bi-Lo. ;)

There really aren't tips on songwriting - I've been asked to pontificate on that subject and I never really know what to say, other than focus is everything and turn of phrase is everything in lyric writing.  I can always talk about the process of writing prose, whether fiction or otherwise - that's easy, but songwriting I just never know what to say really because it's such a personal thing from writer to writer.

And i am home from the New York Musical Theatre Festival production of SASQUATCHED, which was nicely directed and choreographed, had a nice 5-piece country band, a bright energetic cast, and a few problems with the book and lyrics. The author hasn't decided exactly what the tone of the piece should be, and for every number I liked, there was one that didn't land. My friend Laura Daniel was wonderful as the eco-friendly park marshal, and I had a nice visit with her after the show.  At intermission, I discovered our E&T DR Julie sitting two rows in front of me. It was great to see her.

I liked the music very much; I felt in some cases the lyrics didn't sit well on the tunes, but the biggest problem for me was the author's failure to find an over-all tone for the show.  The work of the director/choreographer was quite wonderful, and I appreciated the fact that  he kept the comedy moving at a nice clip.

Early lunch meeting was fun and informative - with producer Ed Gaynes and his delightful daughter, Jessica - both were at last Sunday's Kritzerland show.  Ed and I are having conversations about bringing the Kritzerland shows to NY or maybe bringing Lost and Unsung to one of the theaters he runs.  We shall see.  Jessica, when she was a wee teen was the host of a really popular Nickelodeon show - can't remember the name.  She hasn't worked in a lot of years (her choice) but is trying to get back into it or some form of the business now.

I called Dramatic Publishing or whatever they're called to see if I could get the sheet music from Three Friends and Nerd - the lady there was very sweet and while they don't have separate music on just those songs she's sending me the entire score gratis.  So, I'll have the sheet music, the CD and that will be fun.

We are back from the library, the Y, and a condolence call on our neighbor Marilyn.  Her husband died suddenly on Monday.

My eyes are blurry but it isn't too bright by the computer so I can use it.  I can't wash the dishes as the sun is shining to brightly through the window at the sink.

My prescription changed ever so slightly, not enough for me to do anything about it.  My eyes are a bit cloudy which surprised me.  Not enough to even consider cataract surgery.  Having the surgery so I can get the implants that would let me trash my glasses is a looooong way off.

Thank you, DRs Jane and Singdaw.  Marilyn did appreciate our visit and her daughters seemed to appreciate the apple pie.  Marilyn also seemed pleased when we told her we'd be at her husband's service tomorrow.  It will be my first Jewish funeral.

Had a good meeting with the East Coast Singer, who brought along her lovely mom with her.  We discussed everything we needed to.  I haven't done a jog yet and probably should given the cajun chicken angel hair pasta thing I had for lunch, but I'm beginning to think I need one day off from jogging.  We'll see how I feel later - it's also very muggy out and still overcast.
