BK, glad to read about the cast for the August show.  it sounds like it will be a great evening.  I hope you will throw in a lot of "old Jew" jokes, for a change.

Did you send your mail by registered mail ? Perhaps it is at the post office and I was not left a notice?   I have to go the PO today anyway so i can see --- I will also ask the Vixter if she saw anything -  she  usually brings in the mail

No, I didn't.  It was sent by my credit union's bill pay service, so it would probably be in a regular business ennvelope.  Hopefully, you didn't throw it away thinking it was junk mail.  LOL!

It's hot out there. And I had to work an hour in it trying to get the Bountiful Baskets put together for pickup. It's an interesting setup, and I don't know if any of you use it in your areas. But you pay a flat fee -- this time it was $15 -- to get a basket of fresh fruit and a basket of vegetables. You don't know what you're going to get, but in this two times I've done it, fruit has outweighed veggies by far. I ended up with three honeydew melons, a cantaloupe, grapes, blueberries and peaches today, plus broccoli, kale, tomatoes and romaine lettuce. Now, to find time to eat all that. I may turn the kale into a soup that I can freeze or use for lunches next week.

I get a box from a company called 'Farm Fresh to You" two times a month.  It's a good service and the quality is good most of the time. Lots of organic fruits and veggies go bad quick if you don't eat them right away.  I do my best!

Today is Mom's 86th birthday. And she's volunteering at the Red Cross. So, I haven't been able to wish her a happy birthday yet.

Happy Birthday to John G.'s mother!

I'll tell you another big benefit of the new modem speed - the Time Capsule backups are finally working as they should - they've been taking way too long and doing all kinds of unnecessary things - now save for the final one of the day, they all last about thirty seconds.  The final one actually backs up the entire computer so that's always longer, but these hourly ones only are supposed to back up what you've done in that last hour.  Finally!  And the icon is appearing and disappearing as it used to.

Back from the memorial service. The deceased was apparently very good looking; someone told him he should be in movies - and cast him as an extra in Night and Day with Cary Grant. But he spent his life work as a developer and builder, and lived to the ripe age of 90.

The talk of Dell and Windows sends shivers down my spine.  It's all here, in the very early days of this discussion board, my hatred of both and my final stomping to death of my Dell computer after their tech in India effectively nuked everything on my hard drive.  I literally put the thing on the ground and killed it.  And then asked the question here would I have to learn all new skills with Apple.  And people said I'd have to learn new things and it might take a while - then I said, "here's what I do - I go on the Internet and I write in Word."  At that point, everyone said GO, make the move, it's simple as pie.  I bought my first Apple Powerbook laptap and have never looked back.  It was SO easy and I got Word for Mac and I was up and running and happy in minutes and the only thing I had to unlearn was the endless keystrokes it took to do anything on the Dell.  With the Mac it was one click and you were there - and it's only gotten better with each new Mac product I've gotten.  I'm on my fourth laptop (the Macbook Air) and my second desktop.  Their tech support is unparalleled.

I love the Mac, but my problem with it is that...every time you get a new Mac with a new system...you have to also spend a small fortune upgrading all or most of your software.

For example: I have several databases in Appleworks 6, but Apple has abandoned program.  So, if/when I get a new computer, how do I keep my databases?

For you viewing enjoyment.  I loathe most of today's choreographers and their nonsensical dances in Broadway shows, where they think back flips and acrobatics are dancing, where they completely no nothing about building a number, tailoring the steps to the actual dancers and, most importantly JOY, the sheer unadulterated JOY of dancers doing great choreography.  I'm not talking about yelling and screaming during a number - that's not joy, that's yelling and screaming.  You want sheer unadulterated JOY and brilliant choreography that builds and builds and builds to an exquisite finish, look no further.  Tony Award-winning choreography by Tommy Tune and Thommie Walsh.  Watch and weep for the brilliance of genius director/choreographers.
