Some cabaret singer posted that she needed help customizing some lyrics to Born to Entertain from Ruthless!  The attempts were so feeble that I did it for her - she hasn't seen it yet - she wanted it to be about cabaret and wanted a mention that she's a lawyer.  In two minutes this:

Some gals like to cook and sew,
When I cook it's in a show,
I was born to entertain
Some gals stay at home and clean,
I'd rather learn a dance routine,
I was born to entertain -
Though I'm a lawyer that's just my day job,
What I crave's a cabaret job,
I've got The Gardenia on the brain -
Don't get too comfy in that seat,
When I strut my stuff you'll be on your feet,
I was born for cabaret.

Not every showbiz cinderella has
Got to come from Pocatella,
My star will rise like bubbles in champagne -

You want to know what I find peachy,
To get reviews like Marcovicci,
I will be a chanteuse from the tip of my nose to the top of my shoes
So strike up the band and give me one final refrain
'Cause I was born to entertain.

very clever!!

Boy I think this jury and the courts in Florida were foolish to release a verdict of not guilty on a Saturday night, when tempers were already on the brink.

I have to say I was shocked by the verdict .  I will admit to not following the court case  closely; basically because I thought it was an open and shut case -

Maybe Cilla can explain to me how an armed man who stalked an unarmed teenager and provoked  a confrontation and then shot and killed said unarmed  teen can claim self defense?

If the teen had  broken into  Zimmerman's house and he shot him in his house,  even in his own yard ,  I would get it....but this set of facts, in my mind,  just don't add up to a not guilty verdict

For me this was an eye opener and if I, a person living several States away, with absolutely no stakes  in this situation, can feel this absolutely shocked, outraged, shaken and angry at this verdict,  I cannot imagine what wrath is going to be unleashed in Florida

I hope I am wrong and cooler heads will prevail

Went to a chamber music concert tonight. The evening opened with a piece for violin, viola and cello from Gideon Klein, a composer who was interred in the Thereseinstadt concentration camp. It was a piece of great freedom and a liveliness that came from its use of folk themes, and it was my favorite piece of the evening. What made it sad was that the notes on the piece said he finished it only days before he was sent to Auschwitz. He died at age 25.

Saturday.  Last night's performance of Angel Street was not as sharp as Thursday's performance, but I think tonight will be better.  Time will tell.

This morning I am going to Greencastle for a movie shoot - a DePauw student got a grant to do her film....so we shall see what happens.  I am supposed to be a member of a church congregation - but I think that I will end up being the chorus girl who gets shot....I haven't watched I LOVE LUCY for over 50 years without learning SOMETHING!

That's pretty cool, Jrand!  Hope it went well!

Today is Mom's 86th birthday. And she's volunteering at the Red Cross. So, I haven't been able to wish her a happy birthday yet.

A Very Happy Birthday to your mother, John!! ;D

The talk of Dell and Windows sends shivers down my spine.  It's all here, in the very early days of this discussion board, my hatred of both and my final stomping to death of my Dell computer after their tech in India effectively nuked everything on my hard drive.

I've had several Dells, mainly because my past employers used them. Despite all my problems with them and their frustrating Indian help desk I keep finding myself going back to them. Next time though, I'm really going to have to consider something else.

I've had my Dell for about four years now and it's still working quite well.  I don't know what I'll get the next time I need a new computer, but I'm pretty sure that I will stick with Windows.  I use a Windows computer at work and I think that it would just be too confusing for me to have to learn another computer system...my my 2˘.  I know other people who have Macs and love them, but I don't think that I need that drastic a change, yet.

A very very happy birthday to DR John G.'s mother. I hope that I am still volunteering when I get to be her age!

They shouldn't let you volunteer at your current age!

Watching Dexter episodes as if they were pieces of popcorn.

I've been doing that lately with seasons of The Mary Tyler Moore Show.

Today, BBC America was showing the first episode of the fifth (and I think final) season of "Being Human."  I was going to watch it (even with the slight edits for American TV), but then I realized that I have the whole season on DVD from England!  I'm watching it now and there are no commercials, no ad bugs in the corner of the screen and no sound drop-outs because of the "language."  It's pretty cool that I can watch the whole season before it airs on US TV! :D

Back, from Blobville USA.

And almost as tired as, say, a Vixmom on a Friday night.  Or a Saturday night.  Or any of those other nights!!

The prosecution did not prove its case.  It relied on emotion, not facts.  It's as simple as that.

Zimmerman may not be totally innocent, but under the law he is "Not Guilty".

Ketchuping...

Loved the clips in the notes, as always.  And that "Chasing the Clouds Away" is incredible.

I'll watch/listen to that Moross thing tomorrow when properly awake and able, DR Elmore.

There was something else, too - but don't ask me what, damn it to hell.

I have never seen an episode of that show. "Big Bang" that is. I have seen MTM.

I love THE BIG BANG THEORY.

He's jealous of my writing time. Interrupts my worship of him, which is what the universe and I exist to do.
