Well, you've read the notes, the notes asked the age old question, "Had a piece lately?", and now it is time for you to post until the piece o' cows come home.

Bluesette is a lovely song, BK.  Can't wait to hear the East Coast Singer's version. :)

I posted this yesterday:

Well, I must be off.  Tonight is the start of Olympia's annual Capital Lakefair!  I'm going to meet my friend Margo down there and we're going to get a Demo burger.  The proceeds of the burger sales go to elect Democrats.  There's also a Republican equivalent, but they don't sell burgers.  In the past, I think they've sold pulled pork sandwiches or something like that.  I don't remember. ::) But the Demo burgers are very good. :D

Be back later!

Well, the first day of Olympia's Capital Lakefair was mostly the traveling carnival rides and food, lots of booths to buy things, and several local food booths.  I did have a Demo burger (burger patty, cheese and grilled onions on a very soft bun) and it was as good as I remember.  There were a few people in front of us when Margo and I got in line but it didn't take too long to get our burgers.  The only other local food booth that had a longer line (that I noticed) was the Tumwater Rotary (I think) booth that was selling "hand dipped corn dogs," as well as regular hot dogs and some other things.  I did have a corn dog a bit after the Demo burger (hey, it's Lakefair!), but it was a little overdone.  The batter tasted good, but it was just a little too tough.

Anyway, what was really funny (to me) was that every time I looked at the Republican food booth (which was at the entrance of the fair and sold hot dogs and fries), no one was at the booth buying anything!  A couple of times I noticed people talking to booth workers, but I never saw ANYONE actually take any of the foodstuffs away from the booth.  Very interesting!  It was only the first night, so I'm sure that people will buy their hot dogs during the fair.

;)

After eating burgers and corn dogs and elephant ears (oh my!), Margo and I walked around the whole fair.  It's not a large fair, but it was fun to see all the local businesses in tents selling their stuff.  We came across a tent that sold tie-dyed clothing and I actually bought a couple of very nicely tie-dyed t-shirts.  What was REALLY cool was that the t-shirt fabric was pretty thick.  Most t-shirts that I've seen for sale lately are very thin (like for undershirts) and don't last long.  This t-shirt material will definitely last a long time.  They're all hand-dyed and for $20 each, I thought that they really were worth it.  If I go back, I might get another one.

There is a crepe joint within a 10 minute walk from my abode. I'll see if I can get a photo to post later.

From UrbanDictionary.com:

Cat's Pajamas:
1920s lingo describing someone (something) who is great, incredible, or special. Usually indicating stylishness or innovation. Pajamas were a relatively new fashion in the 1920s. The term "cat" was beginning to be used as a term to describe the outgoing and unconventional jazz-age flappers.

It also says: An adjective used by hipsters of the 1920's to describe a person who is the best at what they do.
Also used to describe another person who is genial and fun to be with.
This term has been recently popularized by the movie 'The School of Rock'.
Synonym: bees-knees

Corned beef hash and chicken kiev may not be on restaurant menus (although I did see chicken kiev on a menu last year in...er... strangely enough Kiev) but I still buy them as ready meals in supermarkets.

Good morning, all! I have to hit Toyland today to meet Patrick Cummings, our leading man for ROBERTA. After that, I am heading home for the AC.

The ROBERTA dreams have begun in full force. Too many refrains of "Let's Begin" last night!

Did they just call it "Chicken" in Kiev?

Got a speeding ticket yesterday.
I think my 1st in 45 yrs of driving.
Guess I had to wait to be 60, to get a ticket for going 60.

So, today I need to leave earlier for work.

Later.

He sings all the roles. The videos are done in "Brady Bunch" style of videos

Good morning, all.

More rain likely and more allergens in the air. It'll be a fun day.

Thursday morning greetings!  Tonight I will attend my book group as just another member, not the leader.  Sharon is doing a fantastic job already - she's invited the author of this month's book to join us tonight.

TOD: I miss pimiento cheese. I know you find it in the Deep South everywhere, but there are only a couple of places in San Antonio where you can get a good pimento cheese sandwich. And I just don't make it often enough.
