Thank you for the picture, DR Ginny.  I propose we all post photographic evidence of our late-60s/early-70s selves.

No. Not a chance.

It's not a beauty contest, DR John G.  The one or two I have in mind, if they even still exist, will be put up for the sole purpose of scaring away the riff-raff.

If I looked like Riff-Raff (a Rocky Horror reference), it might be OK.

I wouldn't mind it if they do come back in style.  The huge frames of the late 70s, early 80s.  With that kind of real estate available, we might actually be able to have lenses that will let us see things again.

There was a local radio personality, Gerri Hart, who had a daily talk show and was very supportive of (and active in) our community theatre.  Her theme song was "Bluesette," played by studio pianists Charlie Reeder and Bill Eisele.  Here she is with our very own DR Elmore on July 4, 1976:

Oh wow!  I do wish you had been looking up a bit DR elmore, still I love the pic.

Why the hell are you posting that dreadful photo?

Well, I cropped one person out.  Do you want me to do the same for you?

No way, keep him in!

Okay, here's a little something re the notes:

Yrs Truly being served a crepe at THE MAGIC PAN, Beverly Hills, snapshot dated July 1974.  My friend worked there, so that's the one I was in most often, as those were also the years when I was both living and working right there.

I'd like to find a menu to recall all my favorite crepes.  I remember a couple of them, but not in detail.  And the spinach salad.

I introduced a lot of people to The Magic Pan, including my folks in Cincinnati.  We were all pretty loyal customers, and it was a dark day when the chain eventually imploded due to way-too-fast expansion.

You were young and cute.

No menus on eBay at present, just some more matchbook covers.
From Wiki:

Among the menu items were crępes filled with spinach souffle, chicken divan, crepe suzette, strawberries and sour cream, chantilly, and "cherry royale".

Those were definitely two of my favorite dinner crepes.

I also liked Pimento Cheese....slices....most entertaining to look at as well.  Now and then you can get a Pimento Cheese spread at a deli.....but there's lots of EXTRA stuff in it....

Oy!  The picture lies, DR Jane, but thank you anyway!

What I miss that these pictures remind me of:  being able to walk into a casual wear store like Miller's Outpost (remember those?) and being able to grab any pair of 28-WAIST pants, knowing they'll fit comfortably and perfectly.

I am enjoying the new tv series DEVIOUS MAIDS, particularly for the fact that former MELROSE PLACE star Grant Show is one of the featured players. Man, has he aged well!!!

And Richard Burgi, formerly of DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES was in Sunday night's episode. I love that man and plan to marry him someday he is such a good actor.

OH, I had a 28 inch waist once. That was at least 6 inches ago, however.

Actually, I never want to be as skinny as I was in my 20s. Just skin and bone. I am ok with how I am now, just wish certain parts were firmed up a bit more. My doctor, on the other hand, would like me to lose 20 lbs. I shall try...one of these days.

Here is a photo that will make DR ELMORE feel better.   December, 1978, I had received my first trophy for being a teacher at the Indiana State Dance Educators' Annual Convention.....I received seven of them in total....over the years.

I'm up, I'm up.  I was up about six times between the time I fell asleep (about one-fifteen) and now, but I got at least nine hours of blessed sleep.
