My first amusement park was Arnolds Park at Lake Okoboji.  I used to get to go on the big coaster on my birthday every year, I was so excited the night before I could never sleep

It's a big old wooden coaster.  I don't like the metal ones, only wooden coasters

When I was at music camp in high school they took us to Worlds of Fun in Kansas City.  We were taking one last ride on the Zambizi Zinger where the car in front of us got a little off track and started spitting sparks at us.  You go up this spiral and they stopped us at about the last minute they could.  It took about a half hour for them to climb up and slowly back us down.  It was very scary, but didn't stop me from riding coasters

Zambezi Zinger.  We were at the top right before it goes down the first hill when they stopped us.

I love rollercoasters of any and all sorts, but the DH does not, and so I rarely have an opportunity to go on them. And this weekend's accident notwithstanding, I still would, if I had a chance. But I'm funny that way.

Maybe because there are so many Six Flags but they do seem to have more deaths than other parks. :(

Your chance of being killed on a roller coaster is 1 in 750 million

I loved Pacific Ocean Park.  I was only there once, but it was great.

At first I thought this photo was mislabeled, because I didn't remember this ride.  But it stirred a memory from the deepest recesses of my mind that the empty pool was still there, but the ride was gone.

This is more what I remember.

More wonderful photos. Will have to review them in the morning. I finished my story, but I'm exhausted.

Good night, all.

First amusement park I have a memory of is probably Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, which I still head over to a few times a year.  I don't ride the rides anymore, but usually to walk around and soak up the atmosphere and hear the free concerts on Friday nights in the summer time.

Although, I do remember Frontier Village in San Jose, which closed after Marriott's Great America opened in 1976.  Sadly, Great America is a shell of its former self as it's has changed owners several times in 37 years.  (wow 37 years!!!)

I received in the mail today, my very own copy of THE BIG NICKELODEON that I mentioned the other day.  My copy, ordered from Amazon, is a paperback.

back from a long vocal session, but we got eight songs out of the fifteen done.  I'd only had bacon and eggs, so we brought in Astroburger again - I had a cheeseburger instead of a bacon cheeseburger, and only a few zucchini fries, so I think I'm fine.

With the jog I was only at about five hundred calories, if that, and the cheeseburger really isn't that big.

Well, I must be going.  Tonight will be the first rehearsal for the Hollywood murder mystery that I've been cast in!  I don't know exactly what the title is...it's been referred to many different things over the last several weeks.  For all I know, it probably is "The Hollywood Murder Mystery."  Anyway, I'm sure that it'll be great fun!  I know most of the cast and can't wait to get started.

Be back later!

The show is called "Hollywood Who Done It" and tonight was the first read-through that I went to.  There was a read-through right after the auditions, but I had a ticket to another show, so I couldn't go to that.  There were about five people not there tonight, too.  We read through the script and the whole thing will only take about an hour without the intermission, which will probably be 20 minutes or so.

It's a real fun script and I am playing two characters:  Maxwell, one of the movie producers and Kershaw, the older police officer (or investigator, I'm not sure) who is close to retiring.  Maxwell is paired with Matthews, another producer and Kershaw is paired with Stycks, a young and impulsive cop.  Both Matthews and Stycks are played by the same actor (I think his name is Guy).  He wasn't there tonight.  I guess I'll meet him on Wednesday.  And it turns out that I have the last line of the play!  That will be fun! :D

for his birthday   a stranger decided to restore his faith in humanity

Vixdad reported the accident to our Insurer and started the process assuming he'd be stuck paying the $500 deductible

Shortly after dropping his car off at the Geico repair shop he received a call from State Farm  stating that their insured had reported the accident and taken full responsibility for the accident and State Farm would be paying all the cost sfo the repair

That's great news!  A VERY Happy Birthday to Vixdad!!
