Wednesday morning greetings!  Seems I forgot to log out last night...

Anyway, I will be E & T again today because I'm going out to play with Sue and Carole.  We are all retired from the same library.  Carole and I shared a cubicle for a while and Sue and I traveled to several conferences together.  We're going to the outlet mall and IKEA and who knows where else.

Good morning, all! I have a Big Meeting at Toyland today and things to do before it, so I will be heading there shortly.

Last night I had nothing but nightmares: my grandmother's haunted house, which terrified me as a kid and continues to do so, was part of one of them; something about taking a bath and a room in which the lamps refused to stay on; then, the house in which I grew up, where footsteps walked across an empty attic and the back door could be heard to open and close, was in one of them, and my mother and father were in a couple of them.  It was all very creepy.

LOL! Well, at least I'm not on the continuous streak of terrifying dreams I had for a solid week after seeing THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT.

And now this masochist wants to see THE CONJURING! OY.

First it Alice Playten and Henry, Sweet Henry and now it's A Doll's Life (A musical sequel to A Doll's House) some people love (don't get it) and most hate it with the exception of a couple of songs (which I agree are good) and some of the performances.

BK

Did you see it when it played LA?

I think you reissued it the album. (Bay Cities?)

DR ELMORE the Dream-O-Matic 6000 says that your dream indicates you believe the past is encroaching on your present life and presenting you with problems you have no control over.  You also feel that perhaps you could have helped those who have already crossed over to have dealt more easily with unresolved issues.  These issues are not your concern and should be filed away.  You also have some health concerns that you believe could be better handled by your medical professionals.

I had to dissect a frog when I was in the 9th grade.  There isn't a lot IN THERE....the the smell of formaldehyde was overwhelming.  We all worked on them for three days....and by the third day....I was over it!!!!!

"I went in and stood in front of her and had her sing the song to me.  I gave her stuff to react to and gave her expressions she could sing to to get the point of the lyric across.  And it just did the trick – it was night and day and with that one take we had the song."

Video clip!!    :)

That's interesting, Dream-O-Matic 6000! It's certainly something to ponder.

And the nightmare continues: a subway "incident" can be anything - a bomb, a mugging, a drunk conductor, a sick passenger, a suicide - and we're never told anything beyond "due to an incident." This morning I arrived on the platform, which was packed, at 8:40, ran into my friend Cathy who told me she'd been waiting for some time.  All we got were announcements of an "incident." Around 9, a train packed to the gills arrived and toooo many fools waiting on the platform tried to force themselves into the cars. This train was followed almost immediately by 3-4 trains that were backed up behind it, all crammed with folk and I watched more fools push and  force themselves into the cars. Then I had to wait another 5 minutes or so while the relatively empty-by-now platform filled up until another train, packed again, showed up. My wait to get onto a train was around 40 minutes. It then took another 20 minutes to get to my stop. New York may be glamorous to the tourists, but it's infrastructure is making it a mess for the residents. I'm only grateful that I don't lke in the suburbs and have to deal with transportation problems.

Color me really crabby at the moment.

I think I have shared this before, but in a particular bout of poor scheduling, I left my college final lab exam on the dissection of the fetal pig to find the cafeteria serving pork chops for dinner.     :P

DR BK:

Having Sandy B. sing the song to you was pure GENIUS!

I always feel a song should have a point and the singer should feel it"

That why I'm not too big on Karaoke because I like to react to why I'm singing.  Reading from a monitor seems so foolish and sterile.
