Back from a grilled cheese and bacon sandwich and a small thing of onion rings, which I had a craving for.  In about ten minutes I'll go see if there are any packages to pick up and then I'll jog and then it will be time for rehearsal.

I received a very nice email from someone in France who used one of my foster mama cat videos to rescue a kitten that was stuck in an air vent. This video has had over 20,000 views, which astounds me. People waste a lot of time on youtube.
You may have helped 20,000 kitties. Even one is wonderful.

I think it's more likely that people like to watch cats on the innerwebs. That's what it's all about, after all.

Well, yes, that is what it's all about.

Thanks for the reminder, George. Hard for me to believe I left Bob Newhart off my list.

Back from Mom's doctor's appointment and some check-writing for her.  She was probably asleep before I pulled out of her parking lot.  I had a nice Chipotle lunch on my way home and am now in for the evening.

I have been home for bit, dealing with email questions about the ROBERTA score from our producer Judy, another round of artwork for DEAREST ENEMY, and other bits of fresh hell.

I rode the bus to Lincoln center, stopped at the TD Bank to use their coin counting machine to cash in $31.00 worth of coins, and transferred to the 104 bus. As I walked to the rear of the bus, someone pulled by arm; it was the wonderful Marni Nixon, whom I've not seen in a couple of years. I think I'll give her a call and see if she wants to get a cup of coffee. I do love her.

Back in the very early 80s, when I was with the cabaret act "Just Good Friends," a wonderful standup comedienne opened for us several times.  My memory is that it was Rita Rudner.

So, Cumulus is talking about dropping Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh? Sounds to me like a ship leaving sinking rats.

The combination of low local gas prices and my accumulation of Kroger points allowed me to fill up my car today for $2.83/gallon!

I love her!  Marni Nixon used to have a children's show in Seattle called "Boomerang."  :)

DR Ben, since I'm not plugged into TuneScoop I reopened the link in your email and it again said "Sorry, this episode is not currently available on BBC iPlayer Radio"

This time I clicked on "episodes" and was able to open it by the date.

As always Ben, it is delightful to hear you on the radio. :)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I watched a wonderful British film last night, THE SCAPEGOAT. It's a remake of a 1959 Bette Davis film, based on a story by Daphne de Maurier. A man walks into a pub and happens upon his doppelganger. I would never have guessed how it plays out. Beautifully done, with lots of nuances.

DR Doug, have you seen this? I believe it was made for TV. Do you know? Anyone else seen it?

DR Jeanne - I see that it was shown on British TV last year but unfortunately I missed it. There's a DVD available so I've added it to my DVD rental list.

To watch the original or the British remake.....hmmm.  Is there anyone who has seen both?

I'm up early tomorrow for a flight and short stay in Bucharest. Never been to Romania before so it should be interesting. It will definitely be hot; current temperature is 99F !!

Where are you staying?

I had my teeth whitened today and am rather pleased with the results.  I tried other methods in the past and my teeth were too sensitive to tolerate them.  This one seems to be ok, as I heard over & over from various people who work for the dentist.  I have a home kit to keep it up and with luck that won't bother me either.

The price was better than I've paid before, worked better, and it is an environmentally "green" method. :)
