DR BK;

I loved Jack Benny Also.  You are so right. He could just stand there without saying a word and I would laugh!

I love Jack Benny.  He was the greatest of them all.  Before TV, we used to listen to his radio show every Sunday.

When I was a kid, he did a live show in Seattle, and my folks took me to see it.  He had family in Seattle.

I was feeling quite depressed yesterday about Michael Ansara's passing, so I put this little trailer together:

There is an article in today's NY Times about companies that consider themselves "Christian Companies." We've all heard about Chik-fil-A, of course. But Hobby Lobby puts itself in that category, as well as In-N-Out Burger. That last one was what caught my eye. Apparently In-N-Out Burger puts small, inconspicuous bible quotations on all of their food wrappings and containers. Interesting.

Watched an episode of the Last of the Plainsmen with Michael Ansara playing Sam Buckhart and Robert Vaughn as a young Teddy Roosevelt.  Quite fun.

Re-imagining Dolly! at Goodspeed Opera House in Connecticut:
http://www.nytimes.com/2013/08/04/nyregion/a-review-of-hello-dolly-at-goodspeed-opera-house.html?_r=0

The songs were "meant to be sung not by the coyly glamorous Ms. Channing but by the forthrightly workaday Ms. Merman" - I never thought of Merman's performance  as Forthrightly workaday, but an interesting review.  Thansk for posting it.

This NY Times reviewer is like these LA reviewers - she loves everything - I've read two other reviews by her of similar stripe.

Happy Saturday, all!

Oh no, my site is hosted by GoDaddy too. I've never heard such nonsense like that about too many root files. Lordy, I'd better go through and dump some of mine as well, though, I doubt I have anywhere near as many as you do, BK.

And the odder thing is, how is it that your site worked anyway on GoDaddy computers? How can they troubleshoot, if they're not getting a proper normal internet viewpoint? Sheesh.  I better keep an eye out for this kind of thing. Thanks for the heads up.

Back to music...

And while we are talking about Ireland and Irish groups, here is Celtic Thunder (with one of elmore's good friends, Paul Byrom).
