TOD: I want to remake On a Clear Day with a better script and someone besides Yves Montand. Brent Barrett would be fine as the doctor and why not try Jessie Muller from the recent flop revival as Daisy. Restore a few of the songs from the original score, though both of the new songs for the film would still be nice.

and IF I am errant and truant too much, this man is one of the reasons.  It's a complicated relationship, but td HAS fallen in love, is loved and is enormously grateful . . .

TOD:

My problem with today's question is that, when I don't like a movie...for whatever reason...I tend to forget it very quickly.  I'm certain that, over the years, there were movies I saw that could have been improved with a remake, but I don't recall what they were.

Well, I thought a couple of weeks ago that my tv was dying and I was mistaken (so far!). However, my printer has died: faulty switch, which makes me wonder if its nocturnal startups were less ghostly and more mechanical.

The timing is horrible: I have just enough money to get me through Dublin, since I cannot invoice the Man from Philadelphia until I am back, but I do believe that on the 21st, when my social security lands in the bank I can order a new printer.

And greetings from Toyland!

My thinking is that the perfect person to direct a new film of BRIGADOON, which can only be a step up from the mess that Kelly and Minelli made of the MGM turkey, is Tim Burton, if it's as ghostly and evocative as SLEEPY HOLLOW.  Since I have no problems with dubbing issues, I'm not choosey who's cast as long as they stick to the score and Agnes deMille.

Back to work survival vibes for DR VIXMOM.

Tonight is our Family Night - so people can take photos if they wish.....at least there will be someone to react to our craziness.

Last night there was lots of talking and laughing, etc., backstage which is really distracting and annoying to Man in the Chair while he is trying to talk....hopefully that will be corrected tonight.

TOD:  I'd remake a few of my own films, using the original scripts and just getting better directors who knew what they were doing:  DRAGONHEART; DOA; KULL THE CONQUEROR.

I'd love to see your version of Dragonheart. I loved the original, so improving upon it would all be for the good.

TOD:

My answer is much the same as DR Druxy's

Also...I don't understand why remakes get some people so riled. I hardly care if someone remakes a film. And I certainly won't judge a remake until after I have seen it.

And if it weren't for remakes I wouldn't have my beloved MURDER IN THE BLUE ROOM (1944).

BK, so glad you and the ex wife are able to help you darling daughter out with the dental bill. That is a lot of money. I am forever grateful that I have always had dental insurance, as well as health insurance.

Rent keeps going up, but my salary does not  :'(

I probably need to give up my cushy paid parking spot at my apartment and start parking on the street. That would save me some dough.
