The Cuckoo's Calling has come in at the library. I think I can pick it up Thursday.

I'm reading it on my Kindle.  I got the downloaded e-book from my library.  My checkout period actually expired a few days ago, but as long as I don't turn on my Wi-Fi and synch up my Kindle, it can stay there for however long I want. :D

My e-book library doesn't have it, along with a ton of other books that aren't available.  And if your library has it this proves that my library website does not let me request books as I was told.  So far my searches have not shown the library even had the option to purchase the book, and this book didn't show up either.

I am about 80% of the way through the Cuckoo book, and enjoying it very much. Very well written.

Good.

I've got a book I can't get the library to accept my return.  I have two members in my book group waiting for the book to discuss it in one week.  While searching for an alternate method of returning it I found out why books are staying checked out sooooooo darn long.

"OverDrive Media Console for Mac does not currently support the return feature."

We haven't figured out how to return books on Keith iPad either.

I'm right at 25% through and I'm enjoying it, also.

Jane, in your library OverDrive profile, can you set how long you "keep" the e-books?  In our Account Settings, patrons can "Set your default lending options..."  I would assume that your library decides what options you get to set (or don't get).  Here's what my library's settings look like:

DR George I have the same options for my eBooks (don't use the others) and leave it set at 21 days.  I am very good about returning books once I've finished reading them.  It is really very easy with just a tap on "delete/return".   The odd thing with this book I returned is that it went away on my Nook and only shows up when I go into my account.  I attempted to download it again, with the idea of doing a second return, and it says I have returned this book.

I'm wondering if I call the library they can fix the problem.

I'm still at Toyland. I have an email to send Jason Graae, and the attachments are taking forever!

Renewing my lease on my apartment...and once again the rent is going up. I wish they would stop doing that! LOL!

Rent keeps going up, but my salary does not  :'(

Have you tried renegotiating for a lower amount?

No,  the apartment manager is a woman.

 :o   ;D

Craig was hit with a very high increase in his rent and got them to reduce the price twice.  It was truly ridiculous, especially when his next door neighbor received a much lower increase & they moved in a couple of weeks apart.  He lives in a very large complex.

I'm very excited, while poor Keith is working in the smoke filled yard tomorrow morning I'm going up to the back of Mt Ashland to hike out of the smoke. :)

I thought you all would like to know that I ordered the Phantom AND The Music Man. Maybe Mae-Ling would like to watch them with me. I know Wae-Ling will want to.

There are lots of children in THE MUSIC MAN which might make it enjoyable for Mae-Ling.

After a 9.5 hr day at Toyland, I am home and exhausted.  Jason Graae sent me a request for the original ROBERTA libretto, and it took forever to send it. We did have a great rehearsal with our leading man Patrick, and i believe that he is now set for the trek.

Tomorrow, I hope to finish Act Two and get into Act Three of DEAREST ENEMY.  Now I need some dinner. I'll catch up on posts later.

Maybe you should talk to someone at your library. Because I can't imagine that any library would not have this book now.

My eBook library is different.  The regular library has it.  I give up trying to figure out if books will eventually be available through the e-Library or attempting to request something.

Before I purchase a book I have learned to take a quick look to see if my library has it.  Very frustrating is to find a book I just read on the new book list.

When I purchase eBooks I tend to chose one from my lowest priced books on my wish list.  Example, Lisa Gardner's new book that will be out in January is $14 something.  I'll wait until it has been out awhile & the price comes down.
