NOTES WITHOUT MUSIC

Well, you've read the notes, the notes were without music (almost), and now it is time for you to post until the musical cows come home.

BK, tonight's song selection was very funny!  Of course, I'll never have to deal with some of the specific issues in the song, but it's still very funny. ;D

Very intrigued by the hints about next week's release.

Well heck, by that other one, too.

The computer I have with me on vacation doesn't seem to want to play the songs in the notes, so I will look forward to hearing them upon my return home.

Good morning, all! I wanted t sleep in after a very long day yesterday, but I must head to Toyland and accomplish several things: confirm Act One fixes for DEAREST ENEMY finished, continue with Act Two fixes, and clean up the office for tomorrow's ROBERTA meeting with conductor, record producer, and the man whose New York studio will cover the Manhattan overdubbing.

I think that's all my news this morning. I will check in from Toyland.

I knew yesterday was Tuesday, but it felt like Wednesday by the end of it.  So I was thinking today was Thursday.  But it isn't.  I'm going to be very confused by the time Friday rolls around.

Before I purchase a book I have learned to take a quick look to see if my library has it.  Very frustrating is to find a book I just read on the new book list.

When I purchase eBooks I tend to chose one from my lowest priced books on my wish list.  Example, Lisa Gardner's new book that will be out in January is $14 something.  I'll wait until it has been out awhile & the price comes down.

There must be a way that you can talk to the person who is in charge of ebooks at your library so that you can find out which books will be coming in.  Is there no way that you can read any hardcover books vs buying an expensive ebook?

Some comments from yesterday notes

DR MBARNUM SAID

I watched a silent version of WIZARD OF OZ which was shot on location. For me, the location shooting removed the magical-ness of the story. It ended up looking like a lot of Halloween trick or treaters wandering about the countryside in a home movie.

Early (very early) silent films were shot outdoors as they didn't have soundstages. One of the reason why film production moved from the east coast to California was the weather. Eventually stages were built.

DR POGUE

The TV version with Robert Goulet

Only the opening/final scene was shot on location (probably the Hollywood Hills or some place like that) but once in Brigadoon everything was shot on a stage

REMAKEs

ON A CLEAR DAY....

I would like to see all the material that was cut out and put in the correct order.

Wait Till We're 65
Who Is There Amoung Us Who Knows
She Wasn't You (Montand's version)
ESP (If it was filmed)

Also Come Back To Me was cut strangely. Continuity is all over the place

Thanks, Singdaw and Jeanne, for your comments yesterday. I didn't have email last night when I got home, so I couldn't check in. In a way, it's nice to have an unplugged evening.

Wonder if any of that will be on the Warners Archive release, which was just announced yesterday. I doubt it, but we can hope.

Wednesday morning greetings!  After putting out a couple of AAUW fires, I'm going to meet Rob at the new apartment.  He will use my car to transport some stuff from the old place while I work on the kitchen in the new place.  My daughter-in-law must trust me - or she's put up a lot of Post-It notes!

Well, I got the rest of my sleep!  Laid me back down after posting earlier, and zonked back out.  Had a couple of interesting dreams which I'm trying to retrieve.  A little groggy now, so it's time to hit the

Coffee!

Front page of the Banner-Graphic with a photo of someone you all may know...
http://www.bannergraphic.com/story/1991808.html

I am not really putting on lipstick, I am using lip balm....

And front page of the Brazil (Indiana) Times...with three pictures that are NOT anyone you know.

http://www.thebraziltimes.com/story/1991744.html

The story is basically the same in both editions....MEDIA BLITZ!!!

Last night's rehearsal was fine, but many people were there to see little Joey and Abby and Hannah in the ensemble and take pictures, so the rest of us were just getting in the way when we were onstage....without them.....lots of phone checking, etc, when the ensemble was not on....
