Despit the shenanigans and outright foolishness of certain -- ahem -- politicians, this progressive note has been struck:

Tonight is the 4th performance of THE DROWSY CHAPERONE.

At intermission tonight, we will be half way through the run.

Congratulations. Any more people in the audience talking back to you?

Oh, and JRand, I keep meaning to congratulate you and the rest of the cast/crew of THE DROWSY CHAPERONE on the successful performances!

I wish that I lived close enough to Indiana to actually attend one of your shows. Maybe someday.

Rehearsals are  over for today.  This morning we rehearsed Eamonn, Annalene, and Jason. Kim Criswell arrived about 1:45, so she went to lunch with Jason, Rob, and me.  At 3:00 we had John Molloy, Eamonn, Annalene, Patrick, Jason, and Kim, and we read through most of the dialogue.

Tomorrow Aine, Chrissy, and Mary join us, and we  will read and play through the entire show. Working all of the music and dialogue together.  Jason and Kim are a lethal combination, and the laughs and insults are coming fast and furious. At break, a lot of the cast went off for a pint, and I need a lie down.

Tonight, I'm going to a concert of Irish music at the National Concert Hall, the place where we recorded EILEEN in 2011. Our concert mistress Fionnuala Hunt, her sister Una, and her niece Rachel Kelly are performing.

And now, time for a lie down.

Are you thinking of moving to Indiana, MBarnum?

Speaking of moving, I have news to share with you all. The DH and I will, like Mary Richards, be moving to the Twin Cities. The DH has been wanting to be closer to his family for some time, and has in the past few weeks received a call to become an organist/Music Director at an Episcopal church in St. Paul, Minnesota. It is all very sudden, and he will be moving permanently next week to begin to gear up for the start of the program year. He will also continue to work his NYC job remotely.

My timeline is more uncertain, as we obviously still have obligations here, and I have no job in Minnesota. But sometime between now and next spring, I will be packing up our apartment and completing our move. It is stressful and hectic, but also an exciting opportunity. I am not looking forward to returning to "job search" mode, but we will deal with one thing at a time.

The butter and eggs are so much better than those in the States.

LOL I must agree with you because I buy European butter and my eggs I purchase fresh from a woman down the road.  Now I rarely order eggs in a restaurant anymore.

This is very surprising news.  I wish you both the very best.  Moving long distance isn't easy and more difficult when you can't always be together.  I know having done it too many times.

Sling Sling, you won't be able to stand on the corner at Dayton's anymore since Dayton's no longer exists but you already knew that. Good luck with the move and all it entails. And, since you got married in California when it was still legal, you'll be legally married in Minnesota as well!

Thank you, DRs Jane and Ben! And yes, the marriage thing is certainly a positive. I don't know how I would have felt about moving to a state where I was suddenly un-married.    :)

Yesterday I spent a fraction of the time I've been spending on the computer, dropped a pound I've been struggling to lose and slept 7 1/2 hours which is a lot for me.

People used to tell me I should write a book, how to move and stay happily married.  No need to write a book when one sentence will do the trick.  Don't be sensitive when the other person is tired, stressed, and grumpy.  That works both ways. :)

So if I stay off the computer for the rest of the year, I should come out about where I need to be, weight-wise.    :)
