Yikes!  I'm at work and I need to check an order that I placed (for work) on Amazon.com and it doesn't seem to be working.  For the last several minutes, I've been getting the message:

We're very sorry, but we're having trouble doing what you just asked us to do.
Please give us another chance--click the Back button on your browser and try
your request again. Or start from the beginning on our homepage.

Is anyone else having any trouble with Amazon.com?

Yep.  But it's back now.

Thanks.  That was just weird.

We got back to the Club around 7:00, and seven of us staying here and our Lord Henry, John Molloy, went out for dinner and drinks. Jason and Kim had Rob Berman in tears from laughing so much. They seem to be on a mission to upstage each other on the mikes, and it's all quite funny. Today we finished up our tenor Eamonn and trio of couturier ladies - Mary, Aine, and Chrissy - and tomorrow morning is John Molloy's last session. My heart breaks saying goodbye to each of them.

So, this morning, we got all of the various "Touch of Your Hand" numbers in the score: the performance duet, the ladies' trio, and Sidonie's reprise. Jason and Kim did their duet "Something Had To Happen" and we finally read down the Exit Music to check it for errors.

In the afternoon session we got the Act One and Act Two Finales, some underscoring, and the big Wardrobe Scene where the exiled Russian princess Stephanie is decked out in her mother's royal finery to land the leading man at the Cafe Russe. Russell Bennett quotes Russian music right and left, ending with the national anthem, ending in the Russian national anthem. It's a great Cinderella moment. We also recorded the two songs in the score that are so poor they were cut to shreds before the Broadway Opening. We're giving them complete to the public.

Now, to the postcards. I only sent a few to friends whose address is on this laptop, and I make apologies to any of you who did not get one. I simply didn't have your address with me.

Just letting everyone know, we're updating the board software today (this will happen from time to time) - if something doesn't go right we may be down for a few minutes, but if all goes according to Hoyle we shouldn't be down at all.  Also, my nervousness about it is that our settings and preferences may change, but if that happens our web host has made a complete backup of the board as it is right now, so they'd be able to immediately go in and get everything back the way it was.

Photographic evidence of DR DRUXY co-starring with Elvis & Kurt Russell in IT HAPPENED AT THE WORLD'S FAIR.....happens at about 46 minutes into the movie.

Second from left in first photo....far right in the second photo.  Looks like the same camera setup both times.

I wish I looked that good today.

BTW: In the bottom picture; the guy with the glasses on the extreme left (facing me)....I didn't know him then, but about a year later, I cast him as "Brick" when I directed a local production of CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF.

DR Druxy,

I saw the pics of you in the movie with Elvis.  AWESOME!  It must have been exciting to stand so close to Elvis!

Did you get to talk to him?

By the way DR Druxy you looked quite handsome!

Yes, I did chat with him for a couple of minutes.  Then, Colonel Parker told the A.D. to tell me that I wasn't supposed to talk to Elvis.

Finished two-thirds of the new set of liner notes.  I still have about four paragraphs to go but at least they're pretty far along and I can get them finished tonight and then do the next set tomorrow.

TOD:  I'm afraid I'm not much of an Elvis fan.  As a matter of fact, I don't think I've seen one of his movies.

And the movie looks pretty good.  I'm afraid I don't know Seattle, never got that far up the coast, but it must be invaluable for people who know it and especially those who were there in the early '60s.

I need to watch something good.  I don't quite feel like an Elvis movie tonight, so what shall it be?

Oh!  THE DISAPPEARANCE.  Which I never saw, so I think that's the ticket for tonight.  Yes indeed.

Am sad tonight. The DH leaves permanently for Minnesota tomorrow morning.

When I shall follow is yet to be determined. Sometime between now and the end of April.
