Good Morning, Starshine people.

I had this dream about bk's new book (?) it was auto-biographical (?) and we ended up listening to the Carpenters version of "Can't Smile Without You", and in my dream, bk didn't speak.  He just smiled and nodded his head.  When I asked him if he liked this cover of the song, he smiled and shook his head.  It was a weird dream.

That would be your first clue that it was a dream.       ;)

Has anyone done Peter Filichia's quiz on Kritzerland.com yet? I got all but five, but the worst is that I can't figure out the first one:

Ah, the daisiest thing it was!

Where is that from? It's driving me crazy. My only clue is that it's from pre-1937 which is when the second answer is from.

That's why they're so much fun. I might have studied back in school if these had been the types of tests we had to take. You know, information that'd we use later in life.

Forty - yikes, 40! - years ago today I moved to Middletown, Ohio.

Congratulations. I couldn't last a year. And that was about 28 years ago.

Well, DR John G, it helped that I loved the job that brought me here and eventually was promoted into the boss's job when she retired.  And that I made a lot of friends through community theatre, including DR Elmore.  And that I met and fell in love with Richard.

I have never put 1 and 0 together before. You worked at the library. I loved that library. I remember finding recordings I didn't have, like the original cast of "The Nervous Set" and the recording of Einstein on the Beach, which had me entranced. I also remember getting quite a few books there, too.

DR John G, I worked at the Miami University Middletown library.  Is that the one you mean?  And if you were here 28 years ago, I was on maternity leave...

No, I meant the Middletown Public Library, but I did visit the Miami library occasionally

Boy, do I fail.  About ten out of the fifty?  There's no excuse for me!

I went to Bon Ton. They had great coupon deals.  I purchased a Ann Klein purse, a bracelet for my Sis/in/law and myself.  Hue trouser socks, and a hat for my neighbor who just returned home after heart surgery.

They have fantastic deals!

While eating lunch today, I was paging thru a Emily Dickinson poem book that I have.

The intro tells a little about her life.  She always wore white and rarely left her room where she wrote such beautiful poetry.

I believe she is one of my favorite poets of all time!

White shows off too many food stains. Wouldn't work for me.

Vibes to Larry!

And many many more.

I know all too well that moments of humiliation -- hell, even those of simple embarrassment -- never leave us.  All we can do is take heart in the fact that for the other parties involved, they are nothing.  Yes, somebody will remember that somebody else tossed his cookies.  That's not forgotten.  But once the actual situation has passed, for them that's all there is to it.  It's just a fact.  A beautiful thing.  It's a thing that happened.  We, the ones to whom that thing happened, live with it, never letting it go.  Which is probably completely unnecessary.  I imagine there are people who can grow out of that horrible moment and move on.  I am not one of them, and I'm presuming that DR Elmore isn't either.

The only other thing one can do is sort it out, put it in perspective, and leave it there.  An amazing trip, an amazing recording session, amazingly wonderful people...and one really shitty morning.  I know these are empty words right now, but unless the incident was photographed and will be written up by the other participants for inclusion in the album's liner notes, then it's over.  Not over for those of us prone to living our most horrible moments over and over and over again.  But ... over.

VIBES for some relaxing, refreshing and restorative days to come.

Thank you so much, DR ChasSmith!

I had planned to see my doctor next week, but she insisted that I come in today at 1:00. I've been there and I am back, my MRI is scheduled for next Friday at 9:30am, the laundry is finished, and now I can be a self-indulgent invalid.
