That's sand, not snow, by the way.        8)

Because snow in August would just be plain silly.

I've always been terrified to try a sleeping aid. I mean, I know some of them SAY they are not habit forming, but I just don't believe it.

This won't surprise you, but there are several natural sleeping aids that I use. The homeopathic version is Rescue Sleep and the herbal that I like is Natural Factors' Tranquil Sleep. I've never heard of them being addictive. The problem for me is that if I awaken after even three hours sleep, then I just can't get back to sleep. Rescue Sleep is very helpful for putting me to sleep, but not putting me BACK to sleep. Three hours sleep is just enough to keep me from sleeping, but not even to be functional the next day.

I hear you, DR Jeanne. I have a friend here who has conquered severe sinus problems with the help of a homeopath. She swears by it!

Sing, does your white noise machine offer any options. You know, yellow noise, pink noise, etc? Don't you get tired of all white? And it does should food stains.

When you really can't sleep, it starts reading you the poetry of dead white European males.

That might be more interesting to hearing my neighbors' toilet flushes.

I do wonder, though, if Emily ever tried a melon ball.

The DH already has some leads on apartments in the new location. From what I can see from Google Maps, it looks like a really lovely neighborhood.

Well, you should know - it's that pretty much what your recent convalescence was like?      :P

Of course, almost anything there would look nice, in sunshine and not covered in a blanket of snow!     :)

Thank you, BK, for the wonderful birthday greetings this morning!  It's not everyone who can receive personal birthday greetings from a famed actor, director, author, composer, and CD producer; right there in said person's own daily blog. (Well, I guess everyone here can receive those greetings, but you know what I mean.)

Yes, two months of having to stay off my feet. I did have to go out to see the doc, though. I paid someone to drive me and we'd sometimes stop at Trader Joe's on the way home. I knew it wouldn't be forever and I just tried to pace myself, curl up with a book or DVD, and not sweat it. Of course, I'm now behind on EVERYTHING.
