I'm listening to the Leith Steven's score to The War of the Worlds.  What wonderful music, with that edgy fifties SF sound I so dearly love!

Later tonight, I'll do some writing, and have cookies and milk, all the while avoiding this horrid Minnesota heat wave.  Come on, ninety degrees and high humidity?  What's the world coming to?

Long ago, I was in Paris and didn't speak much French. I went into a little cafe and asked for a ham and cheese sandwich. A few minutes later I was presented with two sandwiches--one ham, one cheese. A logical misunderstanding.

Yes, they are.  I have my fiancee, Michael, take pictures of me in the science fiction sections of used bookstores during our travels. 

I love used book stores.  You can tell how civilized any area is by the number of used book stores they have in the vicinity.

Had a lovely visit with the Darling Daughter - poor girl can barely speak with all the stuff in her mouth to stop the bleeding.  But in the end she will be so happy and pain-free.

Had a bike ride.  Now off to the shower and then to a production meeting/rehearsal.  Things are coming along fine with the heights show.  Progress is being made, no one is yelling at each other, people are happy.
