After the show, people stuck around and drank and danced and had a good time.  ALSO after the show, our director said that he'd been approached by the owners of the restaurant who said that it's been selling so well that they wanted to know if we could add a matinee on the third Sunday, when we were supposed to close the night before.  So, we'll get an official e-mail probably tomorrow asking if everyone is available.  I'm available! ;D

NICE!!!

Another thing that was really cool was that the bartender, who will work the pre-show and intermission for the whole run created drinks for all the characters!  I actually had TWO drinks named after my characters...the Kershaw Cosmo and the Maxwell Mudslide.  However, my acting partner, Guy, didn't have any drink named for his characters, so I suggested to the bartender that she change "Maxwell Mudslide" to "Matthews Mudslide," to be fair.  She said she tried to make sure that everyone had a drink and would change the menu for the rest of the run.  She just has to make the change on her computer and reprint the menu.  Easy as pie!  I had the soon-to-be-named Matthews Mudslide and it was good.  I thought that it needed a little more chocolate and less alcohol, but that's just me. ;)

That  was very nice a s well, and considerate of you  to be sure Guy had a drink named after his character as well

BK,

You should try to see the Alan Ladd version of GATSBY.

I am not a fan of Ladd, but I did enjoy watching the film...even more than the Redford version.

It should be on YouTube.  At least, that's where I watched it a few months ago.

And now I must go to work.

Since I am not Jewish, I will not be wearing my derby and moustache to the World of Wisdom.

LOL!!!

Jrand - If Harvey needs a theme song, I was saving this for Harvey Weinstein but he never called.  :)

Tune of ROXIE

The reason everybody flips
Will always be – Harvey
The fellow giving acting tips
Is gonna be – Harvey

You’re gonna see such humility
And how he does it – nobody knows
Is it his brains, experience,
Or is it just his taste in shows

From just some nothing kind of guy
He got to be – Harvey!
Who says that commerce ain’t an art?
And who's the star of this shebang
In this most photogenic gang’
It’s Harvey
Harvey’s smart!

One doesn't plank on two boxes of beer.  One planks by holding oneself as in the photo, but on elbow to hand on the floor - as if you were doing a push-up but you stay up as long as you can take it.

Good morning, all! Thanks for all the good wishes of the past week. This affliction is getting old real fast. I wasn't sure that I'd get out of bed today. Around 7:00am, i took more pain meds, went back to bed, and decided at noon that I was tired of lying there.  The sad thing is that now I am actually out of bed I have nothing to do.

DR George, thanks for the good news about last night! I hope the run's a huge success.

Saturday afternoon greetings!  I've been to the grocery already and now have chili simmering in the crockpot.  It's opening day of the Michigan football season and we may have Rob and Mary Linda here later.

Hello Everyone:

Brother Kevin H has arrived.  We had a lovely lunch of my homemade rotini salad, Swiss cheese and ham, homegrown tomatoes.  It was very good.

Congrats on DR George's opening night.  It's quite an honor to have a drink named after you, even if it is you character in a play.

I've only been to dinner theatre once and it was to see "The Sound of Music" at I believe it is/was (dunno if it's still there 13 years on) the Starlight Dinner Theatre somewhere in Orange Country.  I was taken there, so I don't know any of the details.  It certainly is a different experience.  Always 3 acts (so I'm told) and dessert is served at the second intermission.  I thought the experience was great.  I'm sad that this tradition of theatre is close to extinct.
