And I forgot to mention, we have CBS back on Time Warner Cable!  Best thing that could have happened to me over the long weekend.

I need a sherpa today to change a light bulb. Oy!

I can do With some extra help provide for my DP (Dear Pet). Received a phone call from the pet hotel yesterday. My Kismet was peeing blood. They took him to the vet and he has an infection. Gave home a dose of medicine and pain killers. I had them put him in a suite so he would not be around other dogs and had him not to doggy day camp. I'm so upset that this happened while I'm away

On the lighter side this being the Jewish New Year I am reminded of a non-Jewish friend of mine asking me what my favorite thing about Rosh Hashanah was. I told my friend it was blowing the shofar. Evidentially they misunderstood me. But happy to report they are celebrating their 10th anniversary together.

Mention of DR Mike's own Kismet reminds me:

I just acquired the DVD of a little movie musical by that name.  It's hard to come by at a reasonable price, but I finally spotted one and snatched it out of the hands of an Amazon seller for a "mere" $20.  I see there's another one up for $26; the rest are $50 and up.  Anyhoo, I'd never seen the film version, and at a glance this CinemaScope DVD looks and sounds spectacular.  The orchestrations are probably of the typical film super-sizing, but the few seconds I heard sounded about as faithful to the original as I imagine one can hope for.

Today's riddle:

How many DRs does it take to change DR Elmore's light bulb?

An excellent excuse for a li'l HHW get-together, if you ask me.

Mine just got opened for the first time in a few days.  It is indeed wonderful.  And after today, looks like we'll be in the low- to mid-70s for the foreseeable future.

I am feeling better today.   I watched DANCE MOMS and ABBY'S ULTIMATE DANCER last night, neither of which made me feel any better.  But then I watched the last 90 minutes of INTOLERANCE and WAY DOWN EAST....which made me feel much better.
