The Kritzerland Books have all the makings of a Great Sitcom, of which I would love to have a part in!

All of this CC made me nervous, so I checked by balance, which seems to be correct.  Whew!

Loved that old L.A. pic, DR JRand! I will need to look at that website.

Makes me wonder if a photo of me driving my car down a street someplace, somewhere might end up on the internent, or whatever is around, 50 years from now.

I am seriously considering getting rid of cable television.

It isn't that I don't enjoy it, but I figure if I stop DVRing stuff that is playin on TV I might actually get around to watching the hundreds of DVDs that I have purchsed over the years. On top of that, I might actually get a book or two read and some of my interviews transcribed and published.

I would terribly miss TCM and Encore Westerns, but likely I can catch up with all of those movies at some later date. And tv shows like HOT IN CLEVELAND, THE WALKING DEAD, ect I can rent when they are released, and shows like BIG BROTHER, THE AMAZING RACE, and SURVIVOR I can watch on the innerweb.

Of course I could just go cold turkey and not watch any of those shows...but I don't want to go THAT far!

DP Kismet is better. Still on the meds and special food. I told he could go play with other dogs today but keep an eye out for him.

Very good news, Mike!

DR MBarnum,

I would consider carefully before getting rid of cable.  I think you would really miss it.  I know I have to have my TCM and other shows, expecially all the old ones!

Laundry has been an ordeal: I decided to use the washers in our basement because it would keep me in the building. BUT . . . the waterlogged corduroy trousers kept throwing the bin off-balance and i literally had to stand over the washer and "unbalance" it every 2-4 minutes. It generated a lot of pain on all my nerve endings but the clothes are in the dryers and I will hopefully finish it very soon.

Once that's accomplished, i am going back to bed and hopefully not getting out before Monday morning.

MBarnum, you can watch

Hot in Cleveland

on line as well. You don't need cable for lots and lots of shows. We haven't had cable since 2009 and thought it would be nice to have Turner, it's not worth the other crap and the price.

Happy Friday, and Happier Weekend to everyone!

I mostly wanted to catch up with all of the well wishers that I missed saying thank you to this week. You've been so kind wishing me the best for tomorrow night's opening and for the previews this week. So, THANK YOU to anyone I missed, and again, to those I didn't miss.

Today: Last rehearsal. Tonight: Last preview, and... more importantly, the last set of faux notes from the inept excuse of a director. He is gone after tomorrow night!!  :D Were it not for the artistic director and some very determined actors, this piece would have no life whatsoever.

I will most likely be missing here for the entire weekend, what with opening night tomorrow, and two shows on Sunday, followed by the long drive home.

So, I thank you all in advance for all of your good wishes.

Cheers! And someone please take a nap for me this weekend.   :D

Lots of old photos of LA at this blog....if you haven't seen it.

Beautiful!  I've never seen that shot with the Du-par's so close up and clear.  I'll be looking through that site for sure.  Thanks for that, DR Jrand63.

That is horrible and outrageous about the credit card.

But not only the crime itself.  I think it's absolutely crazy how long it takes for the banks to get replacement cards into people's hands.

And of course, it takes no time at all for them to get your money. :P

Larry, I'm so sorry you're going through all this. When I injured my ankle recently, I had one neighbor doing my laundry (insisting), another friend doing the occasional grocery run, and someone else (hired) to take me to the doctor. And it still wasn't easy!

Vibes it gets easier -- soon!

TWO credit card issues this week?! Ugh! Vibes to both BK and John G for speedy resolution.

And, yes, you should have at least two cards, even if you only use one.

Y.W. DR CHAS SMITH and DR MBARNUM....it is most entertaining.  One of the pages is a bunch of stationery from various movie studios....

My sister and her husband dropped cable and have only the HD over the air channels - which are plentiful.  They have a small "aerial" attached to their tv and the picture is fine.  And can't you also STREAM without cable?

Ginny, I had a good experience with LAMPS PLUS. I ordered a lamp on sale, based on the online photos. When it arrived I saw that it was larger overall than I'd visualized and just too big for the space. I returned it to the local store--no problem at all--and ordered another lamp--NOT on sale, of course, more expensive. But I'm very happy with it. That said, I think it's best to try to work with a local retailer, like you're doing.

I've never had cable TV--ever. I would have loved to have had BBC America, but it was just too expensive. I use Netflix--MUCH cheaper than cable--and my computer. I don't have time to watch everything that's available to me. It means watching some shows a season behind, but I can live with that.
