Larry, I'm so sorry you're going through all this. When I injured my ankle recently, I had one neighbor doing my laundry (insisting), another friend doing the occasional grocery run, and someone else (hired) to take my to the doctor. And it still wasn't easy!

Vibes it gets easier -- soon!

Thanks, DR Jeanne! My sense of humor is wearing thin.

I don't think most people realize what an unfriendly world we live in when we're not fully ambulatory.

It's too hot here today (all this week, in fact) to even think about doing much of anything except staying in AC. Ugh!

I asked paypal why it was going to take ten days - it's because they're not an issuing company - they farm out the issuing of the cards - if it was a bank I'd have it in a couple of days.  I may have it sooner - hopefully I will.  I got some cash out of the ATM at the bank and will use that for the next few days.

Had a fun lunch, picked up one package, which, ironically, is a non-fiction book called Dark Market: Cyberthieves, Cybercops, and You.  Funny (not really) timing.

I've had some deelish pizza, my laundry is put away, and I've taken my meds.  The apartment, alas, is a total dump, but I can't manage that at present.

Britcoms at 8:00 on channel 21, and that's my day.

Well, the cable guy came and just switched boxes.  He said there was nothing wrong with the signal.  I hope I don't have trouble with the 3rd box.

I don't think I'd drop cable but maybe some of the extra channels that I hardly ever watch.

DR Jeanne, we're on the same page about the lamp business.  Thanks for the input about the store!

Without cable, I'd really miss ESPN and the Big Ten Network during college football season.  We also like C-Span for things like political conventions and inaugurations and such.

Wacky little day.  And the combination Louie was not so good today and really tiny - kind of a joke, and the thousand island dressing was not a patch on the buttcheeks of how good it usually is.  Very disappointing.

Well, it's theater time again!  Tonight, my parents are coming to see the show and are using my comp tickets...so that means that they get the meal, the dessert, the wine, the show, the pre-show entertainment and the intermission entertainment all for FREE and everyone else has to pay $75 per person for the privilege. :D

Be back later!

I am also thinking of giving up cable and would miss TCM, BBC America & the other film channels. My condo association has basic with the condo fees so I wouldn't be totally without.  Also thinking of getting rid of my land since I use my cell phone more.

They used to be called "saddle" staplers. Now, they're called "long reach" staplers. Who knew?

I now own the Blu-Ray, extended edition of the Dragon Tattoo trilogy (original European version). bk and many DRs here have recommended it. I hope that I will be able to find the time to watch it.

I can feel that annoying tickle in my throat and eyes which means that ragweed must be in full bloom.  Yuck.

Where is Dino at the piano when you need him? I wonder if he knows "Melancholy Baby" in B-flat.
