Forgot to mention that yesterday I listened to the new cast recording of Annie. I don't like the new "tarted-up" orchestrations. The New Yawk accents are an interesting{?} choice. Amazing luxury casting with Anthony Warlow as Daddy W. He still sounds like a god - never heard his songs sounding better. I think if I wanted to hear this score again, I'd go back to the original. Dorothy Loudon can't be bettered.

It was so much fun and I had a wonderful time. Rick and Scott have been together for 24 years and I've known them for about 23 of those years. They actually could've gotten married last year, but they wanted to plan it all out and it was such a great moment for them. I was able to chat with a whole bunch of friends that I hadn't seen in a while. That was great. It really was a great day for Rick and Scott.

My show call was 7:00 and I started to leave at about 6:00, but I wanted to at least say hi to my friend Andrea. We started chatting and we (most her) kept going until we were the last of the guests and didn't actually leave until about 7:10! As I was driving to the show, however, I got a call from our stage manager asking where the heck I was. Spoo!! I did get there long before the show started, but I was having such a good time with everything and especially talking with Andrea that I forgot to call to at least let them know that I was running late. But it was worth it.

I hadn't seen Andrea in probably nine years. About six or seven years ago, she started losing her eye sight and it turns out that she has a genetic degenerative eye condition and now she's lost most of her sight. And from what I've read from her Facebook posts, it's incurable. There's not even any kind of preventative treatment. You just lose your eye sight. But she's a survivor.

Right now though, she's not completely blind. She was able to walk around the tables on her own and she was able to recognize a mutual friend of ours. She told me about her going to a school for the blind to learn how to do everything without seeing. She used to produce shows for The Abbey Players (a no-longer-in-existence community theater group) when I was doing shows with them and she wants to get back into some kind of fund raising/advocacy work.

Andrea is also interested in being an advocate for sight impaired LGBT youth. She said that just being gay OR being blind is a difficult enough situation for kids to deal with but if they're both, that's even so much worse. I told her about Theater Artists Olympia wanting to do The Rocky Horror Show and that we're going to have a fund raiser at the beginning of November and she expressed interest in helping with that. She certainly has the experience. She would be a great help! Hopefully, it'll all work out for her to do that.

And through it all, her husband has been extremely supportive. He's a great guy. He and I chatted while we were in the food line.

As for the show, it was great! Because they now have rush tickets for the show and dessert only, they added some tables. The problem is that Guy and I as the cops were blocked to try and break down the wall (pretending, of course). But now, there are tables in the way. It's been different these last two nights, but not a horrible situation. We just go to wherever we can.

My hobbling on my leg with the pulled muscle wasn't horrible, either. I've been managing well enough. I'm sure that it's going to take a while till I'm completely back to normal, but I'll manage in the meantime.

After the shows, we've stayed after and had drinks and danced and anyone from the audience can stay, but no one really has. But tonight, several people did! They danced and chatted and we all had a great time. We stayed there for a couple of hours after the show ended. And I wasn't the last one to leave. That's been a lot of fun, too.

The people from the restaurant said that next Saturday after our last performance, they were going to cater a cast party for us and really do it up right! Even just the "normal" food that they've been serving us has been pretty darned good, so next week's gonna be really good!
