Back from a really fun lunch with a film composer and our very own Nick Redman - no overeating - we all shared three dishes of food and the portions at this jernt are on the small side.  The composer signed 100 booklets for an upcoming release.  I think Nick's idea is a good one for the general populace - get a signed booklet if you purchase sixty dollars or more in Kritzerland CDs - that will help move some back catalog.  We've always just given away the booklets but other labels have done this promotion kind of thing (only for a lot more dough - you have to buy $100 worth of stuff) - however, I got about ten extra books signed so anyone from here who orders it will get a free booklet and won't have to purchase any more than the one CD.

Speaking of dogs there were tons of them yesterday at 5:30pm when i went for my bike ride at the lake. Tons.  There is a dog park (enclosed gate) there too. Most of them were there. But the dogs are also allowed to walk (on a leash) around the lake. There were probably 50 dogs doing that. So it made bike riding much more difficult (since you have to slow down in case the dog jumps in front of you, which they don`t do 99% of the time).

You are smart to watch for jumping dogs.  Echo was one of those but I would say "leave" before she jumped and she would be fine, even off leash.  One must be diligent about their dogs faults to prevent problems.

Whenever I see a kid or a dog i slow down because you just never know. The only time i ever had a problem was when a dog went in front of the bike. The owner was holding the leash so i assumed the dog was on it (it wasn`t). It was totally the owners fault since the dogs have to be on a leash. And i was able to slam on my brakes.

I hope the owner was appropriately embarrassed & apologetic.

Well they said sorry. But since i didn`t fall off my bike or hit the dog i guess they didn`t really care.  It`s sort of weird to have kids, dogs and bikes on the same path. I am careful but i suspect other bikers aren`t as careful. There are a few blind spots on the path.

BK, I want to add my regrets on the loss of cousin Dee Dee's dog. Very tragic and I certainly hope something happens so that this will not occur again with that dog and that dog owner.

Here's a piece on NYC's Doughnut Plant:

I've been there. I'm only glad that it isn't in my neighborhood.

Our postman just arrived. There must have been some glitch at the Planetarium Station (besides their usual glitch, their manager). He's about 3.5 hours later than usual.

I spent the afternoon lying in bed and watching tv; the therapist told me to do very little sitting.  So, I'm having a bit of dinner, going back to bed, and watching a bit of tv, reading, and that's the rest of my day.

BK, I'm glad that you'll have the extra signed copies.  I don't buy Kritzerland CDs in bulk.  I buy them one at a time as they're released...just about every one of them. :)

I think he's driving. He'll have to take one hand off the wheel and wave.

And now, I'm off.  Tonight, Theater Artists Olympia is having a fund raising meeting to discuss raising of funds for a production of The Rocky Horror Show.  Then tomorrow night is our monthly board meeting, so I have two meetings in a row.  Oh, well.

Be back later!
