Back from a nice lunch meeting and hiring the replacement gal to do the Adriana Hofstetter audio books.  It was proving too difficult for our original gal and on top of that she got cast in Annie as the star to be on B'way for the last few months of that run.  So, it's now Francesca Blumenthal who was, ironically, my first choice before but for various reasons wasn't doable then.

I spent part of my afternoon paying bills and watching tv. The other part was given up to some of my physical therapy exercises and telephone calls.  Now, I'm looking at various mattress sales online.

Horrible day today with the laptop out of commission most of the day.

More vibes for Larry and a third on the recommondation against the double Tylenol.

A double bourbon is more my style, but probably not too good for your tummy, either.

Most of Tim Rice's musicals deal with oligarchs or royalty of some sort and the issue of power: Joseph ..., JCS, Chess, King David, Aida, The Lion King, even the Road to El Dorado.

TOD:

Ford:
She Wore a Yellow Ribbon
Stagecoach
The Quiet Man
(and I'm not sure I believe Maureen O'Hara's story about him)

Fonda:
The Lady Eve
Fail Safe
12 Angry Men

Claudette Colbert:
Midnight
It Happened One Night
Bluebeard's Eighth Wife
The Egg and I
The Sign of the Cross
(I also enjoyed the chance to see her, Rex Harrison, Lynn Redgrave, Jeremy Brett and George Rose in "Aren't We All?" on Broadway)

We're having a heat wave and then it's supposed to cool down by Friday--the weekend sounds like it will be great.

They actually let you do that?  How fantastic!

I wish we could sell that damned land in Ohio.  That was just a parenthetical thought since you work in real estate.

I also overexerted myself a few minutes ago getting a jar of instant Folger's out of the cabinet over the fridge.  Sometimes living alone is not easy, especially when you're infirm.

I was debating a run for page 4 but it's too far and I'm not feeling that agile.

And don't forget Evita!  That certainly was about issues of power.

Have you heard the cd of Skip and FJL' musical version? I had the great joy and privilege to see the reading in which BK participated as  well as a performance at the NYMF

I'm listening to the new Poltergeist II seedee.  A vast improvement over the old, old Intrada seedee.
