Hot & muggy here, too, but it's supposed to break tomorrow.  Probably means I'll drive to northern Indiana in thunderstorms  :P

Not one of my books, but I thought this trailer turned out rather well.

Oh, I read that 1940s B movie actress Louise Currie has passed away at age 100.

100!  Amazing!

A friend of a friend has asked me to type up his soon to be book soon.

He is a former professional baseball player who used to play for the Pittsburgh Pirates.

He grew up in South Buffalo, NY where I also did.

It should be interesting.  I will get the notes next week!

Interesting!

Yesterday, the hubby and I went to Lowe's.  We picked up paint and radiator vents and a new door handle and lock.  Also a beautiful bronze scrolled night light for our bathroom.

Soon we will be painting our interior, exterior door.  It will be a muted color called Butternut tree, by Valspar.

Then we can finally put our beautiful bronze doorknocker on that we received from my best friend and her husband several years ago for our previous house.  It has our family name on it.

Nice :)

DR Jane:  Am I right in assuming that your solar-powered owl has been named Blair because you couldn't remember the name of the character she played in "The Exorcist"?   It was "Regan".

Or...maybe it was after Blair Warner, the character Lisa Whelchel played in "Facts of Life"?

:)

Nope, it is because Regan, pronounced Reegan, is the name of my nephew's almost wife and the mother of my two grand nephews.

the talk of plastic yard owls yesterday cracked me up.

;D

We watched the head rotate today.  It pauses in-between rotations so we had to wait a bit.  It was about as exciting as waiting for Old Faithful to go off on our recent trip to Yellowstone.  Boy, I waited my whole life to see Old Faithful-lol

I am making Photo Disks in case someone orders them.....I think we have prospective orders for 6, so I am making 8 - it might save me a trip back down there to deliver one next week.  If we have an extra, it can just go to the historical society.

I had a nice hike with my group this morning at the trails I used to hike on a regular basis.  At the end of the hike there was a beautiful dog.  As I began to walk towards the dog and his person to ask if I may pet him he charged me.  I of course immediately backed up while telling him no.  Backing up slowed him down but he was still aggressive towards me.  I felt the woman with him could have moved with more speed to leash him.  Even though she apologized I was rather angry about it and said if he attacks people he needs to be on a leash.  Apparently I was wearing clothing he didn't like, a black shirt & black hat.  She knows this about him, saw me on the trail and checked that he was ok with me.  Then why the hell didn't she immediately leash him or keep her eyes on my location!!

DR Jane, Thanks for the nice comments.

Also keep reading The Paris Wife.  I just finished it last week and I really enjoyed it!

As far as the dog story.  I love dogs but do not trust any animal until I get to know it and it gets to know me.

Most of the book was very humorous, but there also were some very special reading moments that made me teary eyed and really moved me.  Now that's what I consider a GREAT READ

I Know that I mentioned it before but any DR"S who have not yet read The Benjamin Kritzer Triology are really missing out.   I cannot recommend it enough.

Give it a go and let me know how you enjoyed it!

And any DR'S who have read it let me know also!

It's been a long day; I get tired of spending most of my day in bed.  I had a visit from my friend Ransom Bruce, who's moving to London on Sunday for a year so his partner Michael can study at LAMDA. It was a short visit, but it was nice to see him. I will send him the names and addresses of friends n London.  Then, later in the afternoon, i talked to Rob Berman, who's heading to LA tomorrow night for the Emmy Awards this weekend. He's nominated - again! - for the Kennedy Center Honors music direction. He won last year. I hope he wins again.
