And speaking of the movie version of "Into the Woods" (I'm sure someone somewhere in the world was ;) )...Annie's Lilla Crawford Will Be Little Red in Into the Woods Film, Featuring New Song by Stephen Sondheim.

Quote
Lilla Crawford, who originated the title role in the 2012 Broadway revival of Annie, will play Little Red Riding Hood in the Disney feature film adaptation of Into the Woods, Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures confirmed Sept. 16. It was previously reported that YouTube personality Sophia Grace Brownlee would play the beloved fairytale character.

According to Disney, production on the film began last week, featuring an award-winning production team led by Rob Marshall ("Chicago," Disney's "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides"), who helms the film, based on the Tony-winning original musical by James Lapine, who also penned the screenplay, and legendary composer Stephen Sondheim, who provides music and lyrics — including an all-new song for the big-screen adaptation.

That's a different girl from the one originally announced, isn't it?

If anyone is still getting the post error message they're telling me you really have to clear your browser cache - after that everything should be fine.  They've fixed the avatar thing and I suspect they're working on the smileys now.

Interesting - I came here via Chrome and I see my avatar but not smileys.

BK, I can see your avatar, but no smilies, either.

It was a United Way event. Many of the desserts were simply sweet without being good, but there were a few that were ridiculously good.

Yes, Sophia Grace Brownlee was originally announced.  She made some YouTube video and Ellen DeGeneres had her on her show and Sophia (and her little sister) became famous for a few minutes.  I wonder if the original casting of her was to play on that hype and then they realized that she might not have actual musical theater experience (or talent ::) ) and they recast her.  Just a thought.

First Look: Carrie Underwood as Maria in The Sound of Music.

Stephen Moyer is playing Captain Von Trapp, Audra McDonald is playing the Mother Abbess, Christian Borle is playing Max and Laura Benanti is playing Elsa Schrader.  I wonder if they'll keep Max and Elsa's songs in the show or not.  This live production is supposed to be based on the Mary Martin version, but they always say, "...in the role made famous by Julie Andrews in the musical's 1965 film version."
