Voldemort is basically a middle school girl: he has a locket, a diary, a tiara, a ring, and is completely obsessed with a teenage boy.

I can't get HHW to work on my kindle today. I forget what i had to do when we changed boards. Was it DR George who had a suggestion.

I used the same link i did a few days ago and it says "not available". If i type in the link it says" website registered coming soon".

I would try what i did last time if i could remember. :(

I'm sorry but I don't remember what I might've suggested. :-\

Happy Wandering Wednesday to all...

Okay, it's wandering day to me, as I wander back to La Jolla for the penultimate week of shows. Turns out we are not extending, which is a mixed blessing. One less week of filling in the holes of a Swiss cheese script, but at the same time one less paycheck.

The most important thing - I got my confirmation call from Mr. Sterling that I am confirmed for the new Kritzerland show on Oct. 7th! Can't wait!

Congrats, DR ryacko!

Today, the employees of the entire library district for which I work (except for those who chose to take vacation) gathered together at St. Martin's University in Lacey and had our annual All Staff Training Day.  We had speakers and sessions where we learned stuff.  I went to a session on decluttering one's home or office (it was very useful information...we'll just see if I actually use it ::)) and a session with the author of "The Geography Club," Brent Hartinger.  He was really good.  He talked about writing his first book and it practically invented the genre of LGBT YA fiction.  Individual books about LGBT kids had been published, but they were few and far in between.  The success of his book (it was rejected by 38 publishers before it was finally published, even though it actually won an award for the best unpublished novel) showed the publishing world that there really IS an audience for these kinds of books.

He also talked about a lesbian couple that he and his partner know and they started the website AfterEllen.com, and then he and his partner started AfterElton.com, modeled after the lesbian site.  They eventually sold them and were basically fired from the sites that they started because the owners wanted to go in another direction...meaning, not so much gay content.  He said it was okay...they paid him "a shitload of money" (that's an actual quote from him).  In the lobby after this session, Barnes and Noble had his books and the books of another author who had a session, which I didn't see.  I bought the first four books of his Russell Middlebrook series.  Russell is the main character of "The Geography Club".  He autographed all four books for me! :D

I watched last night's and now am watching tonight's season finale episode of "America's Got Talent."  These are some amazing acts and performers.  I haven't gotten to the end of the show yet, so I don't know who won...yet.

At the All Staff Training Day, they recognized people who have been working at Timberland for 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35 and 40 years!  I have my 25 years in this year!  Everyone who has worked for 25 years or more got either a crystal vase or a crystal bowl.  Actually, all the women got vases and I got a bowl...I was the only man recognized for 25+ years, this year.  They had a photo "booth" in the lobby and anyone could get their picture taken and have it printed right then.  I had mine taken with my bowl.  It seemed like everyone was required to wear a boa (they had a bunch there) in the picture, so I put a purple one in my bowl.  Here's the picture:

My face was not really that red.  It's a combination of the printed picture and me scanning it.  I can't do much with that.  Everyone who had their picture taken can also download it from the photographer's website starting tomorrow.  I'll download the better version when I can.

Here's a kind of blurry close-up of the bowl at my house:

Here's the bowl by itself:

It's beautiful...I just don't know what to do with it.
