Priscilla, Queen of the Desert was the most bizarre thing I've seen in a long time. Lots of fun, though.

Laura, have you seen the original movie that it's based on?

BK congrats  on  getting the bed and the debit card!

At first, I thought I'd read:  "BK congrats  on  getting in bed with the debit card!" :o

Sounds like a good day has been had here in my E&Tness.  Yes, BK is on a roll, what with the debit card arriving (especially that!), the new mattress, and lord knows what else.

But...first the Smoke House, and now Astro Burger?  Damn my eyes.  I tell you, the man is trying to kill me.         :)

Bed arrived.  When they took the old mattress and box spring out the carpet under the bed was riddled with dust and dirt, so I got out the vacuum cleaner and got that all clean and tidy.  The new bed is significantly higher - I'll get used to it, I suppose, but it was actually a little shocking when I saw it in the room.  Put the new sheets on and it's ready for my sleep later.  Really glad I got the new sheets because the old California King sheets would not have fit on this bed - not even close.

I felt the same way the last time I got a bed, it was so tall!

No.

It's been a while since I've seen it, but it's different.  The movie has a lot of ABBA songs.  One character supposedly went to one of their concerts, but I'd read an article that said that the character would've been much too young to have gone.  Oh, well.  It was a funny scene anyway.

I've always wished Priscilla was a character and not the name of the bus

I have to say, that in her prime I loved Miss Streisand.  Those first albums are masterpieces of production, arrangements and I find her performances beautiful in the drama or comedy.  Later, in the mid-70s things got a little too "studied" for me, but hearing those early albums for the first time was like discovering gold and hearing something very radical in terms of interpretation.  And her performance in the film of Funny Girl is just great.

It was about when she discovered her fingernails that things started to get a little thick for me.

Margaritas were a mixed lot. Some good, some strange (one with strawberry and jalapeno for flavoring was all decked out for Christmas). But the event was strangely unprofessional organized and the judging started three hours after they said it would. THen it only took 20 minutes.

I'm watching "Broadchurch," the region 2 DVD from England.  It's still being broadcast in the US, but I have the whole series.  I won't watch the entire series tonight, but at least I'm starting it. :)

David Tennant is definitely not playing Doctor Who in this.

Saturday morning greetings!  Thank you for all the eye vibes - it looks much better this morning.  Not completely clear, but getting there.

I'm off in about half an hour to pick up AAUW member Lynne.  We're going to join a neighboring branch for lunch and a tour of the Warren County outpost of Sinclair Community College.

Tonight = Michigan at Connecticut, 8pm (EST) on ABC - Go, Blue!

That's strange, that isn't the game we got to see.

TOD:

Movies:
Funny Girl
Funny Lady
What's Up, Doc?

Songs:
Love Is Only Love
Come to the Supermarket in Old Peking
Her songs in "I Can Get It for You Wholesale"
Will He Like Me?
Make the Man Love Me

I never knew she had more than one song in WHOLESALE.  I thought Miss Marmelstein was it.

Good morning, all! I was afraid I was gettng sick last night, but I believe I was wrong. I do need to call my HMO, though, and schedule a flu shot ASAP. I will try to make the appointment on Monday morning before therapy.

I did, though, create a few new horrifying leg pains that are truly abysmal. One wrong turn in bed and it's off for the pain killers. I will be so glad when/if this affliction goes.

DR elmore, I realize that you don't want to become the man with the golden arm, but I really hope you aren't withholding pain medication when you really need them.  You haven't been on the medication long enough to start worrying about withdrawal.
