Need some vibes for a friend who has been diagnosed with severly low endorphin levels. She's been put on Zoloft, but it takes two weeks to work. In the meantime, my friend is enduring a living hell and could use some any amount of support. Thanks in advance.

Larry, he's been cleaning out and then painting the basement floor. He's been slowly getting rid of things every time we go out there in preparation for this. His parents wanted it painted and they knew if they hired someone they would still have to do the clean out and move things around so they decided to pay Anthony to do it. He's been out there for a week. I was out this past weekend and we got a lot finished but there is still work to do which is why he's still out there.

John, sorry to hear about your friend. I assume from your post and the mention of the medication that low endorphins causes depression. Ugh, hope the meds kick in quickly.

Ant took a break yesterday from cleaning and painting and went to see Wizard of Oz again, this time with his mother. She loved as much as he did.

Larry, glad to hear the bed has arrived. You don't need a step stool to get into to it, do you?

As much as I miss certain aspects of living in Los Angeles i.e. friends, family, the Biz), every time I read about the freeway situation there (thanks, BK), the crazy new laws that are being passed in the state and the bankruptcy of several major cities, not to mention the looming earthquake threat, I'm glad that I live in Texas.

Truthfully, because my wife and I miss our kids, we've discussed moving back to CA...or, at least, to a state closer to CA (e.g. NV).  But, then we see what's happening in those states...politically and financially...and that ends the conversation.

The funny thing is that, had you asked me 10 years ago if I would every consider living in Texas, I would have told you "absolutely not".  But, we do like it here.  People are friendly.  The pace of living is manageable...and Government is less intrusive in your life.

Wednesday morning greetings!  I am at the library where my career began 40 years ago, waiting for the September book discussion to begin.

Already today I've visited our doctor for a check-up and flu shot and done a walk-around the space where AAUW will be hosting the sponsor lounge for Middfest in about 10 days.  Last night was my second nonprofit board leadership class - there wasn't much there there...

Awful news about The Vixter's car.  Tough way to learn some valuable lessons.  Hugs and vibes to her!

Over the last couple of months I have had two incidents of unidentified motorists smacking my car in parking lots.

The first one put a ding in my rear bumper (which I think is the title of some DRs autobiography) and this weekend someone either pulling out of or pulling into a parking spot scraped the side of my car.

I now need to decide if I will get both things fixed. My insurance deductible is $250.00 per incident. I think I can live with the bumper ding, but the side scrap is most unseemly.

And on that subject, very sorry to hear about the Vixter's break in....but how wonderful that people were so kind and helpful! That is something nice for her to remember!

Alas, here in Salem, Oregon, 97301, if you leave ANYTHING in your car it will be stolen.

less intrusive? with the laws they're passing against women and Planned Parenthood?

I am not trying to pick a fight, DR Druxy, but I find the Texas governor and his regime a hotbed of neo-Nazi vipers.

Is that why your parents kept leaving you in the car as a child?

I finally remembered to make an appointment for my flu shot. It's Friday, so if I have a reaction, as I did last year, I can be sick all weekend, although honestly every day of the past month has been like a weekend.

Tonight I am meeting friends for French food and then we will be seeing SUNSET BLVD (the movie) at the old Elsinore Theatre. Should be a fun filled evening!
