Those kinds of comments made me glad that I did the Gala.  I was in a lot of pain by the time I left, but I felt like it was worth it.

I'm very glad, and not surprised at all, that it was worth it.

Thanks for the good wishes, DRs JRand63, elmore3003, and Jane! Happily, I am somewhat better today, and the voice was working well enough to get through everything satisfactorily!

I'm up, I'm up.  Since I didn't get to sleep until three, I still only got eight hours or thereabouts.

The Seymour sang a half tone sharp the entire show and was, I suspect, close to forty and not nerdy in any way, shape or form.

Good Sunday vibes for DR ELMORE.

Today is rainy....yesterday was beautiful.  Today we close the barn for the winter and have our last Board Meeting before our Annual Meeting.

We thought about doing MY FAIR LADY next season - however there is a professional touring company of the show coming through the area next spring - so it is restricted.  We have to investigate other musicals.....

How about JOLSON?

 ::)

How big is the ensemble?  :)

This is a very inexpensive show to do.

All you need is one actor and one piano player.

From DR John:
Quote
Here's the recipe for the original margarita and it's still the best:

1 part tequila
1 part triple sec or orange liqueur
1 part freshly squeezed lime juice

Shake with ice. Pour into a margarita glass rimmed with extra salt (the extra salt is my choice). Squeeze a slice of orange or tangelo over the top. Garnish with lime and orange slice.

This sounds good except, aside from ice, I don't have a single one of these ingredients in the house.

Is this how the ice is done when we order it on the rocks?  We usually add an extra shot of tequila and then share the margarita.   Oh, and no salt for me.

Jrand, I think the obvious answer is - The Brain from Planet X :)  Fun show, I've heard.

Yes, but that requires a cast of thousands, plus expensive sets and a 100 piece orchestra.

Great photos, DRBen!

I've done my exercise, read a bit of my mystery, and listened to some CDs. I'm trying to decide if I should call the corner bodega for a delivery or wait till later.

Actually, when I was in Fort Wayne a few months ago for LOMBARD, I did try to turn the theater group onto BRAIN.

Unfortunately, they had just staged DROWSY CHAPERONE and it hadn't done well, so they were only interested in doing big name musicals in the future.  They just opened their season with LE MIZ

Sorry, but I did try.

Went to see The Wizard of Oz in 3D.  I'm so glad I finally saw it on the big screen.  What a perfect cast!  I got a real kick out of Frank Morgan, more so than other times I've seen it.

It really is excellent, seen large.  I might go back.  The local bijou is holding it over a week, albeit for just one showing per day, because they got a lot of people complaining that they didn't have a chance or fair warning in which to see it last week.  And you know what?  I don't even blame the idiot public in a case like this.  These showings of vintage movies don't get properly publicized.

WOO is being held over for a few days on Long Island also. I agree, they didn't do great job of publicity about this. Many people said they had no idea this was happening.

BK, since Free For All Sundays are so successful, have you considered changing it to something elso on Sundays?  Like, for example; HHW's Greatest Hits.  You just pick a Topic of the Day from any day during the last year, and we can try it again.  it might help our Sundays.  Either that or  ask Obama to close down all churches in the country.
