Whoever wrote the greeting for that card must have been drunk. It is plain odd.

Speaking of acting, I am helping the India-US group (of which I am a member) with the upcoming Diwali celebration. I was asked to consider playing Lord Vishnu in a little play for the event. I told them that was not going to happen. LOL! Besides being a terrible actor, I would never be able to remember my lines.

Although the idea of dressing up as a god did appeal to me.

Funny but nice to be wanted :)

Now for some sad news:

Actress Kim Hamilton passed away.

She got her start as a semi-regular on the old AMOS AND ANDY television series (which, by the way, she was very proud to have been in and she has never understood all the negativity aimed towards the show).

She should have been proud of the work.  I don't understand the negativity either, especially with what is often considered acceptable and I find degrading humor.

It's funny, but I've never thought of donuts or cupcakes or cake as pastries.

I've been thinking the same thing while reading all the posts.

I'd planned to drive to Wales tomorrow to visit my sister but my car won't now be ready from servicing until tomorrow - there was a backlog and I don't think they've even started work on it. I'll now have to travel on Thursday instead.

I hope this doesn't cut your trip short.

Thanks and a tip o' the hat to DR MBarnum for recommending those Shout/Timeless DVD 4-packs.  On the two sci-fi ones, I had only one out of the eight films.  There's also a horror 4-pack, and out of those four I needed two of the films.  Comparing the two horror transfers to the earlier ones on "Midnite Movies", the older ones were definitely a little better and of a higher bit rate.  But for five bucks per set, and for not having 9 of the 12 films, these were a fine deal.

Greetings, all!

Survived the closing, packing and moving home, so back to the land of the living. The good news is, the artistic director opened up a conversation with me about out disastrous director, and other than one show he is already contracted for, this faux director is done there. Lordy, what a mess he made.

TOD: My favorite pastry were always the Bear Claws, those almond-paste-filled delights with a light frosting on the top. Yummm!

I hope one day you will be able to work there again and have a good experience.

I stopped buying Bear Claws as each time there seemed to be less almond paste than previously, no matter where I got them.

Well, I'm happy to say that luckily my department has funding, so I'll be paid for my vacation.  I have a friend at the Dept. of Education who is not so lucky.  The general feeling is that the employees will not be paid for the days furloughed, unlike in 1996.

I'm glad for your good news for you, sorry about all the others.

I'm all about the whipped cream, as Jane well knows.

LOL, yes I do :)

There is a restaurant in town where I like to order hot chocolate.  As usual, even requesting it light, they put too much whipped cream on top.  It is superb whipped cream and it actually take willpower for me not to eat the extra I don't want in my hot chocolate.

Had a really convoluted and crazy dream last night! Can't remember most of the details, but it involved a cast of thousands, Debbie Reynolds singing and dancing, and a stolen painting.

favorite pastry is "French" Eclair & Mille-feuille (Which translates as 1000 Flakes) and not sure what the English name is. A picture below

This looks delicious.  There was a little French restaurant in L.A. that had stars in the ceiling, a handsome French waiter, excellent food and the best Napoleons.

I love a mille-feuille which is also the name I know them by. But I think they are the same or similar to Napoleons.

My niece who just started grade 3 finally started reading with her English teacher at school yesterday.  The teacher was not 100% sure of her level. But she was able to read and understand level 29 (which is grade 5 reading level). I'm so proud that she loves to read.

Her spelling has also improving a lot.  They have not focused on English much until this year. And every time my niece would write stuff she would sound it out. So there would be quite a few words spelled incorrectly. Today I saw huge paragraphs and there was only one mistake.

Also she has a project to do and she wrote something like "i must of ..." instead of "i must have ...".  My sister said not to have her correct it because she probably was not able to know the difference. But my niece wanted me to just show her the mistake. When I said "i must of" is not right she said, "yeah it's supposed to say "i must have" :)

I've had Chinese food for dinner, and it's time to get ready for bed.  The Moross conference call is set for tomorrow at 11:00.

;D DR George.

When we were in Paris I just pointed to what I wanted, worked just fine.

Our last day there we went shopping in the morning for a relaxing dinner in our hotel room (we had a frig).  It was a simple dinner of French pizza, champagne, and Napoleons for dessert.  The hotel was not the best but the meal and the view of the Eiffel Tower were perfection.

I mixed sour cream cookie dough and have it sitting in the frig.  I need to roll the dough into cookie balls to freeze before baking tomorrow.  Keith's cousin is arriving for a visit.

I'm running a little late, so it's theater time.  Tonight, it won't be a big deal to be later rather than earlier (I'll certainly get there before the run starts), because all I'm doing right now is setting off the snow video and that only happens maybe eight times in the first act, and then it's done...no more for the rest of the show.  Hopefully, David will have all his sound cues built and set by tomorrow (our invited dress rehearsal), but they have to be done by Friday at the latest.  That's when we officially open and have a real paying audience.

Be back later!

I was having trouble controlling my mouse so I changed the batteries.  Now it is even worst.  It took awhile to be able to do anything.  I may be getting off soon if this problem persists.

I guess I like cream filled donuts....if that's a pastry.....

We are not very sew-fisty-kated here, so just about anything passes for pastry in some of these parts.
