I saw 1776 at ACT in SF the other night.   First time ever seeing this show.  It was pretty darned amazing.  Directed by Frank Galati, just a wonderful production

I'd love to see that again. Saw it at a dinner theater in Sarasota, Fla., about 18 years ago. Same theater, the Golden Apple, did Greenwillow, She Loves Me, the Maury Yeston Phantom and more, all fine productions.

Back from a three-mile jog, some chicken tenders, and a visit to the Apple Store.  The power button on the new iPhone was so hard to use and no matter how hard I pressed it took forever to give me the sign off screen - something was definitely amiss and it turned out to be the bumper guard - ill-designed and problematic.  I bought instead the actual iPhone case that goes with the phone (they were out of the black version or I would have gotten it when I got the phone) and voila - button now works easy as pie as it should and the case adds absolutely no size to the phone, which is great.

Saturday afternoon greetings!  Richard and I were at the Middfest venue shortly after 9am and had plenty of time to set up the sponsor lounge before the official opening at noon.  Richard came home not long after we opened and I stayed until our 3pm-5pm volunteers arrived.  Home now watching Michigan football until I have to go back to put stuff away at closing time (7pm).

And when I left there STILL were no coffee mugs to put in the donor bags.

Our first stop along our scenic drive home was gorgeous.  Deschutes National Forest.

DR Jane, I love this photo!  My dad used to fish for trout in the Deschutes River.  I have his wicker creel and Rob uses his canvas bait bag as a satchel.

I just watched a MIDSOMER MURDER episode with my friend Simon in a small part. It was one truly convoluted plot with three murders and I have no idea how detective Barnaby figured it out!

Has it been an hour since I last posted? Where is everybody?

I just watched the pilot and second episode of HOT IN CLEVELAND; very demented, andI loved them. I haven't laughed so much in a while. Thank you, Netflix!

So, with Michigan leading Minnesota 35-13, and less than 4 minutes to play, we left to pack up the Middfest sponsor lounge for the night.  Quick work with help from Paula and Sharon and we got home just before the rain.

Final score:  Michigan 42, Minnesota 13 - Go, Blue!

Smart move going home early.  I never thought to put the cats in their carriers or leash a dog during storm warnings, glad I never needed to rush off with them.

I do that so they don't run off.  If a window blew out or the house was damaged they would be there with me and not running off in a panic

Thanks Kate and everyone. I've seen the estimates of the number of tornadoes from 8-16.  Don't know what is correct.  Anyway, no one died and the injuries were minor.  The new warning system is enough to give you a heart attack.  Instead of just telling you there's a tornado take cover it tells you it's an extremely dangerous storm and talks about the damage and ends with if you don't take cover you could die.

And a happy haineshisway.com birthday to Jenny, who hasn't been around these here parts for a decade probably.  She was but a teen when she posted here, and we met her I think when we did my first book signing in NY.

Speaking of DRAT THE CAT as a theme, is there enough singing potential in the work of Ira Levin to make for a celebratory evening of song?

Trumpets and organ were played. Hymns were sung. Refreshments were consumed.

The dog is now consuming his doggie "ice cream" with great gusto.

Today, we had a very good matinee of "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe."  I'm home now, just watching TV.
