DR John that cake is lovely, and looks yummy.

This morning, before taking our guest to the airport, I had a routine check-up.  While there I mentioned my ankle injury.  The doctor checked it and wasn't concerned about it and said to give it 6-8 weeks to heal.  Of course since she examined it I have more pain than I've had in a week.  Guess I will rest it tomorrow.

Went to a New Orleans-themed dinner last night and am enjoying leftover Doberge cake. Half lemon, the other half chocolate. All delish.

will one side will make you grow taller, and the other side will make you grow shorter?

I'm afraid both sides will only make you grow rounder.

The cake is like a three-layer sponge cake with each layer cut in half. Then between the six layers is either lemon curd or chocolate ganache.

There are competing Rocky Horror productions in town. One in rep with Evil Dead, the other in rep with Young Frankenstein.

The latter is starring three RuPaul show contestants. Rather surprising for San Antonio.

There are competing Rocky Horror productions in town. One in rep with Evil Dead, the other in rep with Young Frankenstein.

The latter is starring three RuPaul show contestants. Rather surprising for San Antonio.

Very interesting.  Olympia is much too small to have two productions of the same show at the same time.  I think the shortest time in between two different productions of the same show has been about five years.  But then, we pretty much only have community theater in our town.

two of Washington's touchdowns have been made by Bishop Sankey.  In the grandstand is Sankey's grandfather who is watching is grandson play for the first time in over 5 years.  The elder Mr Sankey was blind for the past five years, until he just recently had a highly successful cornea transplant.  It is a very touching story.

Very touching.  I wonder if we are related.  All through my childhood I was told I looked
like the Sankey branch of the family.

Ahhh, I don't think you are part of this Sankey family.

I do that so they don't run off.  If a window blew out or the house was damaged they would be there with me and not running off in a panic

I know.  Why I was never smart enough to do this I have no idea.  Maybe I was never scared enough, which I should have been a couple of times. 

I still remember the cats hiding during our big Los Angeles earthquake and we couldn't get them.  We realized there was no way we could protect them during a quake.   

The Northridge Earthquake occured approximately four hours after I was told that my mom had been killed.  I was sitting in the living room, with the heat blasting, trying to get warm.  I had turned on the TV just so there would be some noise in my place, when the local anouncer said we are getting a bulletin coming through the wire that Loas Angeles has suffered a major earthquake.

Fortunately we had just returned home to Michigan after my father in-law passed away.  Had we still been sleeping at his mother's house a TON of boxes would have fallen on top of us.

I was referring to the 1971 San Fernando aka Sylmar earthquake.

Well, is it my fault that California has too many earthquakes to remember?
