Saturday morning I had an 8 Am appointment to have two crowns put it  - this was the first visit so it took a long time for all the molding and grinding and fitting etc etc

I had one upper and one lower (my teeth are a mess since the radiation therapy but I'm not complaining - I got off VERY lightly!) and the initial pain blocker  started to wear off before he was done so  he shot me up again only this time there was so much novacain that my  left eyelid was numb

I finally got home around  12:30 and as the numbness  gradually disappeared  the pain started getting nasty -  I took a couple of advil and ended up falling asleep

I woke up around 4:15 and I had to be at church by 5 for the Latino Ministry's annual  Hispanic Cultural festival

Good evening, all!

I'm sneaking in with just one more day to my flight back east and the madness of a family wedding. The song I'm learning is the least of it, thanks to BK. If I can learn 3 songs for Kritzerland in a few days, I can learn one for my brother.  :D

I'm in the Tarnation laundry room still. Need to have enough things clean for a week of everything in who knows what weather.

I'm sorry to hear you had to change your Outside the Box shoot, BK, but it does sound like it would be one thing too many with such a busy schedule. And no doubt, if Debbie can't do this one, she'll do another.

Elvis Stojko was on THE TODAY SHOW this morning and announced he is going into CHICAGO on Broadway as Billy Flynn in February.

What's the matter?  Brent not available?

The service was done in Spanish with English translation of the prayers and sermon  and was followed by a wonderful fiesta

There was a mariachi band and a DeeJay.  There were perfomances by some very talented  teens and children  in traditional dances

and there was a huge buffet.  The Latino Ministry has members from many different lands so there were traditional dishes from Mexico, Peru, and Equador  etc

There were over 200 people, about 40 of us English speakers but we all had a fine time

I was home by 9:30 and as my gums  were beginning to ache again I took advil and  fell  into an exhausted sleep  and slept straight through until 8:45 AM

which would have been fine if I wasn't supposed to be at church at 8 to set up coffee hour and then robe to serve as communion assistant for the 9 Am service

Using my netpad/tablet to brown the interwebs works, but it's pretty slow.  And in my bed, it's not easy to sit up and use it on the bed or in my lap.  I'll stick to my desktop computer.
And now, it's back to bed for some sleep.  Good night, all. 8)

"...brown the interwebs"?  What the heck did I mean by that??  I can't even imagine what I was supposed to say.

I assumed you meant browse the internet.

I actually arrived at church (clothed believe it or not) at 8:58 to discover that the family that was supposed to assist with coffee hour had proceeded to set up without me and they  promised they had things well in had and shooed m e off to church -  I sneaked in by the side aisle during the opening hymn, slipped  into the robing area and slipped into my seat

I'm such an idiot for stopping at the mailbox today.  The mail is often late on Monday's so I didn't make the Columbus Day connection until just now  ::)

I spent the entire weekend reminding people that Monday was a National Holiday and a Federal Holiday.  So guess who opened his mail box this afternoon looking for the mail?

Yup...for some reason when I reread that, I just couldn't think what it was supposed to be.

I left church after the second coffee hours and took my elderly parishioner to Panera for lunch

They have a new soup: https://www.panerabread.com/en-us/menu-categories/pasta-and-soups.html#vegetarian-autumn-squash-soup

which I had in a bread bowl - it was amazing!

But  halfway through lunch I started sneezing  and by time I took Talley home  my eyes were streaming and I was coughing and sneezing nonstop so I foolishly took two benadryl which effectively  took me out for the rest of the day and night

Okay I will try to post a picture the way DR Jane suggested.

This is the chalet. The lake is in front of the chalet. The park and green grass/picnic area are to the right and left of the chalet.

Perhaps it could be a trifle larger!

This morning I woke up after 8 AM  but fortunately the boss gave us a dress down day and told us  (for the first time since I  have worked for him ) that we could come in at 9:30  - and then we were let out at 2:30 - so that was nice

I'm sure our stores are all open.

We, as in State Workers, gave up Columbus Day for the day after Thanksgiving many years ago.

Yesterday was a very exciting day for me...I got a wonderful phone call from BK's neighbor, Earl Holliman! We had a nice, long chat about all sorts of things. And then later in the evening, he called me again and we chatted some more.

I can tell you, Mr. Holliman is one of the nicest actors I have ever had the opportunity to chat with!

Did he invite you down for a visit?

Keith has his first audio book from the library downloaded on his new smartphone.  I was pleased the book I suggested he read was available & I didn't have to remove anymore books from my library hold list to make room for me.  I hope he likes the book.  I also showed him how to add books to the wish list.

Now let me get this straight, Jane.  You are teaching Keith computer things??

Going to catch up on Dancing With The Stars.

Has anyone here been watching Hostages or the Black List?  I quite like both of these shows.

I know  THE BLACKLIST has gotten good reviews, but I just can't cope with James Spader.

It doesn't bother me.  I had more of a chance when he was still living in Seattle.  Sixty-three year old men in wheelchairs don't really date a lot.
