So, Sondheim is working on "Company" and the Roundabout is doing a reading of a gay version. Feckin ridiculous.

http://artsbeat.blogs.nytimes.com/2013/10/15/sondheim-working-on-a-revised-version-of-company/?_r=0

When I read this, I thought it was a good idea IF the story was something like this....

I always thought that Bobby should "come out" in the story. Doing all he could to live up to the expectations of his "friends" in the story, but eventually had enough of trying and would come out.

But I don't like this new concept.

Back from a wonderful lunch with two of our cast members, one of whom I was meeting for the first time and who I liked immediately.

I'm up and have been so since nine-thirty.  Just had a visit from Terry Trotter and will now stare at my song list for an hour or so.

BK, recently you've mentioned several lunches/visits with Terry Trotter.  Might a new project be on the horizon??  Or just friends having lunch together?

Then I check out the FSM board and guess who's back trying to cause her usual trouble and failing miserably.  Yes, that's right, 3D Diffusion.  Not only has herself, but she creates yet another username to do her dirty business - that name was banned instantly.  She's still coming here 24/7 looking for ways to cause trouble.  In the FSM thread she even brought up John Yap for some unfathomable reason, as if that had anything to do with anything, and implying that I'd told someone else to shut him up - wow.  I'm thrilled to have a lovely board where I can point this out to anyone who comes here, because the depths of this woman's obsession and illness knows no bounds.  It's pathetic, and she just doesn't seem to be able to stop.  It seems she's made me the focal point of her entire existence.  There's a name for that, isn't there?  Oh, yes, stalker.  Since we know she's reading this and every other word I write anywhere on the Internet, maybe some day she'll actually stop this nonsense and perhaps have a nice, productive life.  If you hate someone, what's the best path of action, do you suppose?  To let the person you hate create a cancer in your body?  Brilliant.  If I don't like someone, I move on, never think about them again, and don't let anything about them enter my world at any time.  Not our 3D Diffusion.  Note to 3D Diffusion - really, seek help.

Terry has written a musical and he's asking my advice on it.  He's basically retired now and while he does play occasional gigs around town, he doesn't really ever want to go into the studio again.

That's too bad about him not wanting to record again (bad for us, I mean).  But it's pretty cool that he's written a musical.  Hope it does well!

There are too many new places I want to see to pick just one.

There are so many fabulous faraway places to see!
Such as Mexico, Sweden, Hawaii, Japan and Capri!
There are so many exciting & wonderful places!
Mountains and jungles, deserts and oases!
Pleasant as home is,
It isn't what Rome is!
So why stay there?
...

With a tip of the hat to Leslie Bricusse for "Fabulous Places" from "Dr. Dolittle".

I'm glad it was only me.  Maybe it didn't last long enough for anyone to notice.  I gave up after several tries and had work to do anyway.  Fortunately the links I needed for the work opened just fine.

Dogs are always nice to have.

DR JENNIFER - I am sure Elvis will be as good in NYC and he is in Toronto.

But will he be good? I am curious.

DR MBarnum I know people who rescue Bernese Mt. Dogs and see dogs of pets in need on FB.  My concern is my own safety if we get a dog.  Almost every dog has inadvertently caused me some kind of injury.  I admit, I like getting up at night at not worrying about tripping over an animal.  Plus the sad fact that I cannot take the dog hiking on my own.

If we do get a dog maybe I can get it trained as a service dog to protect me from getting knocked down.

DR Jane i know you prefer certain kids of dogs but I see so much variety while I bike. Have you ever considered getting something smaller. I see so many dogs that would not hurt you.

Well, Sondheim probably wants to keep working and maybe rewriting is easier than writing. Tom jones pulled the same thing with the last FANTASTICKS production, and I don't think the new lines are better. I've heard he's doing the same with I DO, I DO,and it's already happened with 110 IN THE SHADE, I think.

DR LAURA, if only I had followed my thought - that is was indeed the battery - I could have saved myself a tow fee.  But I thought it was the starter.....

That's what I get for not trusting my own thought.

They tested the battery and the alternator before they replaced the battery.

There is only one dog for us now.  Little dogs can easily be tripped over and they are a pain to keep lifting up when they can't walk, hard on my arms that ache to begin with.  I know this from doing it with my sister's dog.  Big dogs are often more gentle than the little ones.  It is really walking with any size dog that attracts dogs other people don't control and where I get in trouble.

When Buddy was here running around with me I knew within a minute I didn't have to worry about him.

Watching Abbott and Costello movies today. They've met Boris Karloff, the invisible man, Dracula, Frankenstein and Marjorie Main. Glad I'm on the last one in the set, something called Lost in Alaska.
