Well, you've read the notes, the notes were the fun part and had musical staging, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're currently learning their MOOsical staging.

It's definitely not been a good week. The cough and sore throat persist and because I've been sitting and lying around so much, I've now got backache. I need to be fit to fly to Germany on Monday but there's a big storm brewing for that day so my travel plans that day may get totally scuppered if aircraft get cancelled.

Had a lot of fun at "Rocky Horror Show" last night. Hadn't seen the show live before and this was a fun, over-the-top production. They used the set for Young Frankenstein, which is playing in rep. So, they really had a slab that descended from above. And when they sang, "There's a light/Over at the Frankenstein place ...," well, it really was.

Good morning, all! I slept late burrowed under a lot of blankets and quilts in a chilly room.  It was quite wonderful. I am up and moving, but I have no plans.  I had thought about taking buses down to Toyland, but I believe I'll do that tomorrow morning.

I have no other plans for today. I have a walk to the bank and that's about it.

How "stiletto" and "memo" actually can  work as a rhyme amazes me, but it seems to there.  a puzzlement.

Good morning, late, all.

Had to arise at dawn's crack to take the car in for its regular maintenance (150,000 miles - count'em) and am back with a loaner because there's some major work to be done -- namely, replacement of the engine and transmission mounts.  It's a regular old age thing for cars, but is the kind of condition you don't drive the car with, so no choice.  That plus a few other things is going to come to a $1200 tab.  Oy!

More coffee!

I love staging musicals and I also hate the learning the songs part....and especially when hours are spent on a song, and when you start....someone says...."What's my note?"

Get Well VIBES for DR Doug R who was not NEARLY as lucky as I was with my cold.  Mine, for all practical purposes, had left the building as of yesterday.

CDs are the same as last week because it's been a crazy one and I'm still at these:  SIMPLY, DEAREST ENEMY, and ...NOW CHANGE.

BLUs are the new Vincent Price Collection and some other Halloween-appropriate goodies from the stack.  Watched THE WOMAN WHO CAME BACK last night but fell dead asleep and need to see the last 20 minutes again.

I had an interesting time at the Austin Film Festival yesterday.

I did one of their Roundtable sessions, and sitting next to me at one of those tables was actor Robert Walden (LOU GRANT), who has just moved to Austin.  We will probably have lunch together in the next week or two.

Also, a guy came up to me, asked if I was "Michael Druxman," then told me that, when he was a teenager back in the early 1970s, he would come to my house in Agoura Hills, CA, and watch the 16mm movies I would show almost every night in my living room.  He said that watching movies in my house is what inspired him to go to film school.

Later, he became a psychotherapist, but now he wants to try screenwriting, which is why he was at the Austin Film Festival.
