I retrieved the Arnold Schwarzenegger mask.

It scared my dog when I put it on.  Now, we'll see how the kiddies react tonight.

 :D

Of course we need photo evidence.

DR Jennifer I'm very sorry your little niece is ill and I hope the rest of your family stays well.

I recall one Halloween, maybe 7th grade, I was sick at school and went to the nurse.  She was very nasty about it and immediately called my mother to pick me up.  With glee she kept telling me I would miss going trick-or-treating.  I did not tell her I knew my parents better than that and I would have to have been much worse before they kept me home from all the fun.

If she was sick with many things she could have gone to daycare and/or trick or treating. Only things where you have to stay home are fever or throwing up.

She was sick all night. Then once at 8am. And once at 2pm.  Before the 2pm one she was convinced that she could still go out.

I guess she could always just do her street with her little throw up bag beside her.  Or i might ask her if she wants me to carry her bag around and get candy for her.

It is supposed to rain all night. So not very nice. And my sis has now been up all night so she doesn't even want to go out. So maybe my niece will just want to stay with her. :(

Sorry about your niece, Jennifer. No one should be sick on Halloween.

Maybe if she hasn't thrown up all day then she will be able to go out on her street. But the weather is supposed to be rainy. So not too exciting for anyone.

I hope she is up to putting on her costume and going to a couple of houses.  Will you be going over there tonight?

Yes.  She had a gorgeous Cinderella costume that she was going to wear. But a few weeks ago she decided that she didn't want to wear it (i like recycling older costumes that my other niece wore). She had a fairy costume that she was going to wear to daycare. But it wouldn't fit over her winter jacket. So she was going to be a butterfly outside. I think she just has butterfly wings. So not a lot of effort went into that costume since we thought that she was going to be Cinderella.

You should have talked her into going as both the butterfly and Cinderella.  She'd have TWO costumes and be TWO characters.  She'd have liked that, I think.

It took me three "takes" before I realized the word was "album" instead of "arm".

From DR Jennifer:
Quote
This is going to sound pretty funny, but I'll probably just see the movie.

Just the opposite of what you tell me to do ;)

Well if it's a book I really want to read then I always do the book first. But sometimes a movie sounds interesting (either I like the actors...) so I just do that.

From what I can tell by the little bit of the trailer I watched, the story has been captured and the movie looks good.  The reason I, and others, have said to read the book is the movie will not capture the voice of the book, the narrator.   I understand this would be difficult to capture in a movie as the narrator is a kind, compassionate, overworked Death.  The concept is unique and should be read.

Happy Halloween DR's.

That picture (which disappeared when I quoted it) is super cute.

Thanks.  I stole it from someone last year and saved it.

Good Morning, Kids!

You make me feel so young!     :)

Are you sure that's not just your moisturizer?

One year Bryan couldn't go and Craig carried around an extra bag for him.  I think if a parent is along they believe it is for the sick sibling at home.

Happy Halloween, All!

I'll be spending my evening watching other people in costume and makeup. Going to see two friends in the production here of THE SUNSHINE BOYS, with Danny Devito and Judd Hirsch.

My all time favorite costume growing up was Zorro. At ages 5 and 6, I insisted I HAD to be Zorro, my hero. Swordsman, horseman, hero, man in black. I'm not sure I ever took that costume off in my head.  :D

Have a wonderful spooky-licious day!

As a kid, two costumes I remember are Hopalong Cassidy and, later, Paladin (Wire San Francisco).

As an adult, I put on camouflage face paint and wore fatigues to a party.

I love when Craig's friends tag him on facebook so I can see photos of him.  A co-worker just tagged him in his Halloween costume.

Guess I should go buy some Halloween candy - hopefully Gelson's has some left.  Then I'll get something to eat - I am truly enjoying letting my mind relax and especially letting my voice have a day off.

It was made for TAO's production of The Brain From Planet X that we did a few years ago.  It's just expanding foam insulation on a bike helmet and some paint.  It looks pretty cool in person.
