In a continuing effort to bring a little bit a culture to ya bums  here is the the latest shocker, this time from Holland's Got Talent.

On a personal note, I would audition for the judge on the left, any time!!

Sad to report that rains are washing out Halloween in Louisville this year and Mom did not make cupcakes.

Well, it's time for me to leave work.  I'm going to Costco to see if I can get a couple of pizzas for tonight and some stuff for tomorrow's fund raiser.  We on the Theater Artists Olympia board are all bringing food for the evening.  Nothing that needs to be cooked, though.  We'll see what I can find.

After that, I'm going to my sister's for the evening.  My sister and I are putting together baskets to raffle tomorrow (hence the pizza...our parents will also be there, so the pizza will be eaten by several of us).  We'll put the finishing touches on the baskets and wrap them in plastic with bows.  Hopefully, they'll actually be bid on.

Anyway, be back later!

Have fun DR George.  You didn't mention handy out candy as part of your evening activities.

One year Bryan couldn't go and Craig carried around an extra bag for him.  I think if a parent is along they believe it is for the sick sibling at home.

I actually had the bag and was asking. It was sort of embarrassing. I'm sure people believed me (I think). But it was still slightly awkward.

I am really sore. I ended up carrying my sister's golf umbrella. I didn't realize that it was so heavy.  And I ended up carrying all of the extra candy. Usually we would drop it at home. But the lady and other kid we went with didn't want to stop.

I was wearing my winter jacket. But it wasn't very cold. Someone's outdoor thermometer said low 50s. It was really rainy though. That part was not that comfortable.

My niece said I could pick one piece of her candy. My sister corrected her and told her I could take whatever I wanted. :)

I really only wanted a bag of Reese's Pieces. Love those.

My little niece put on her winter jacket. And actually didn't put her butterfly costume on. She put on the fairy costume she was going to wear to her daycare party. She did 3 houses and then went home.

My brother-in-law was supposed to go Trick Or Treating. But at the last minute he decided not to go. So it was just me and my niece. We went with the mom and the girl who live behind them.

Nice of Steve.  Maybe he can do this, along with packages, on a regular basis.  I hope the gossip is incorrect.

ELEVATOR GETTING FIXED FAST VIBES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nonsense. I wouldn't ask him to do it regularly. I don't want to be beholden to anyone.

I think you should ask. I'm sure it wouldn't be very much trouble.

It seems like a simple thing for someone to do until the elevator is fixed.  If I lived in your building and you didn't let me do it my feelings would be hurt so you wouldn't be beholden to me.

I agree. I don't think most people would feel it was an imposition.

Good for your sister-lol

I'm glad the little one got out for a few houses.

I guess your brother-in-law didn't want to go with the neighbor woman, and didn't have to with you there. You are such a good aunt.

Yes, it is much cuter to have the sibling ask.  I'm sure your niece appreciated it.  I never carried the extra candy for my children.  If your niece can swim with her arms in the air she can lug around bags of candy ;)

I've only had two sets of kids stop at the door. And I bought a boatload of candy. Candy I don't need.

The neighbor's husband was there too.  It was odd because he was putting on his jacket to go out. And then my sister told him to wait while she went to the few houses next door. And we went back he said he didn't feel like going.

I do like going trick or treating, minus the heavy umbrella and carrying the heavy bags. I guess he must have carried their bags in past years. Because I don't remember ever having sore arms before.

True. But it wasn't because it was too heavy. It's just she had her own bag, plus the donations box for the children's hospital. Plus she was trying to keep her tree hat on.

In 3 weeks is the next swim meet and her call time is 1:15pm. The strokes are butterfly, breaststroke and front streamline (put your hands out in front of your head and kick).  Breaststroke is my favorite stroke. But it's my niece's least favorite. She's not so fast so it will be interesting to see how she places.

I was looking at her ribbons that she got over the summer. And she swam 25 m of front crawl in 26 seconds. And last week I believe she swam one length of front crawl in 20.63. That is crazy to improve that much in just 3 months.  The fastest girl swimming (who is from our pool and who will probably turn 9 in weeks since she is on the 9-10 swim team swam something like 18.38). And the other girl from our pool swam 20.28 (she was 9th place).
