The landlord just emailed me! He says it will be repaired hopefully on Tuesday.

At least you received something.  Did it include an explanation for the delay?

Yep. The service man could not repair the motor on site and had to take it to the shop

It is nice they finally told you.

oh, hi!

Funny!

Our big 80 black Belgian Shepherd, maybe black Shepherd mix, raised Bosco our tortie and white.  When Bosco was little she rode all around the house hanging onto Belle.

Keith is very funny.  He won't get his own facebook page and uses mine instead.  This week I have 3 new friends that are from his childhood.  I have family members he meets doing genealogy and one person who turned out not to be related.

The manager and owner of this building care about the building, but not so much about the tenants. At some of the other buildings they don't even care about the building.

The weather here was mild (mid 60s) but so windy. Ridiculously windy. There are branches on the roads and leaves blowing everywhere.  It seems to have calmed down. But part of the city is without power (not me).

I rarely go out to eat. And of course the whole way there had power. But not the one building I was going to. :(

When I got there people were eating by candlelight (the kitchen was still open). But then by the time my party arrived they decided they were closing the kitchen even though they had told me they were open. :(

I'm not a pizza lover, but this made even me want some. Two Boots has an LA location or two, but nothing near me. It's probably just as well. From an allergy standpoint it's best that I avoid wheat, cheese, and tomato sauce--and I don't eat meat.

I'm going to watch Masterchef Junior. My nieces love it (it is one of the only shows they are allowed to watch).

I really didn't think I would like it. But these kids are amazing. I cannot believe what they can make.

if the gas company person hadn't rung the doorbell at eight to upgrade or update the meter.

If you can get the landlord to spring for the installation of "radio" meters, the utility companies will never have to ring your doorbell ever again.

I had one installed in Virginia at no charge.

After much resistance I finally purchased a white-noise machine. This one has nature sounds as well. A couple years ago, JRand very kindly sent me some DVDs of nature sounds and I do enjoy them. But my CD player does not have a REPEAT function, so I needed to either buy a new CD player or a while-noise machine to keep it on all night. I still do not like much noise--even pleasant sounds--although I did tune it to THUNDER the other night when my neighbors in a nearby building had their usual late-night balcony party. It didn't drown them out, but it did make me feel better. SUMMER NIGHT is rather nice, although it may be a bit confusing going into winter.

I just looked up HORROR HOTEL on Netflix. Did I ever mention that I used to date an anatomy professor? Uh, we'll leave that to the memoirs, I think. Great stories, though.

Ugh.

A Facebook "friend" from high school, who is a self admitted "Jesus Freak," and whose posts are only about God, Jesus, the bible, his love of guns, and hunting, just posted his latest which is a photo of himself (In a tshirt showing the bible on the front) posing next to a dead, gutted deer carcas which he had killed.

Part of his comment was "God made Bambi commit suicide for me."

Guess who I just deleted as a Facebook friend.

;D though I think that would be an interesting job.

Vibes the white noise-machine helps you to sleep better.

I went to this place called the Bar B Barn. They specialize in ribs that are sweet.

TOD - Richard was watching a movie called ALIEN SIEGE, which I thought was awful.  I've been watching Season 1 of THE WEST WING on Netflix on my iPad.  Love that show!
