Nearly 5:30? Seems like 6:30. Lord.

DR Elmore - what part did you have in the JAY Guys and Dolls recording?

I scored "Traveling Light" and the three songs written for the film. Transcribing "Pet Me Poppa" damn near killed me!

I'm sure they were great.  I wasn't a fan of the recording - tempi was always too slow for my taste.  However, I'm grateful it exists, it's a great resource when you do the show.

Just ordered it.  There's much I'm looking forward to, from DR Elmore's transcriptions to having "Havana" et al.

I've been reading a hilarious study of Jane Austen's novels, Bitch in a Bonnet.

I read what this is about and can see why you are enjoying it :)

My alarm went off at 5:20 this morning and I have to deliver a 7am wake-up call to my mom tomorrow, so, 'night!

After church my parents and my senior parishioner and I went to a lovely brunch held a very nice catering hall.  We were the guests of the hospital that treated my Dad and I for cancer and my Mom for her brain tumor

It was a wonderful affair - great food and we were gifted with totebags, tshirts and golf umbrellas

There were about 300 people there and they had  6 door prizes - I won the huge platter of chocolates

Those are about 150 bags of clothing that were donated for a local organization.  They will launder sort and distribute the clothing to Veteran's and their families and victims of Superstorm Sandy  (the majority of homes that were damaged or destroyed are still uninhabitable a year after the event)

It's a beautiful platter  and decorated for Thanksgiving - if I keep it refrigerated do you think it will stay until Thanksgiving?

Nice organization!

yes this is the third year I organized a clothing drive and the largest amount of donations we received -  it was Pastor's idea to place them where everyone coudl see them and bless the donations and those that will eventually receive them

DR ELMORE I purchased your JAY recording of the complete GUYS & DOLLS since I am directing the show in June....most enjoyable CD!

Why did you have to buy his recording of GUYS AND DOLLS?  Was he tired of listening to it?

That's great, Vixmom!  (about the donations, not that homes are still uninhabitable a year later :-\ )

An interesting concept. Is it quiet?

I think it would make me feel claustrophobic (however it's spelled)

I'm afraid I have no idea. I imagine so, or it wouldn't really work as a bedroom.

Is the vegan substitute any good?

It is not ideal. I think DR Jane probably has the better idea - just leave it off.

I've eaten too many samples of Craig's vegan cheese  :P ;D

So, a tofurkey and vegan cheese sandwich would not appeal to you?

The Seahawks won today.  They had to come from being down 21 to 0.  They won in overtime 27 to 24.

Weather Bug says that we are going to have a low of 39 degrees tonight.  But they also say that as of 8:05 this evening it is 35 degrees.  Something seems wrong with that forecast.

The wind hit near 50 mph today.  Something blew across the deck at my brothers house and broke a big plate glass window.  It also knocked down a dead tree and blocked the road into my parents' neighborhood
