My evil sister-in-law Lady Macbeth is now on Facebook, but I'll never "friend" her. I was just looking at her homepage and I was amazed: it's mostly photos of food and recipes and she doesn't cook! Macbeth does; she's too busy with coven sessions, changing people to stone, and ruining the weather.

My evil sister-in-law is now on Facebook. She's busy ruining the weather.

So that's why we're getting rain today and tomorrow!

MOXIE!  I never had the soft drink....

I liked Pepsi in the bottle when I was small.....and I could almost finish one!  Way back then, you could also change bottles in the carton and get different things....so it was always nice to get a 7 Up - which was my favorite.

Vernor's is a nice drink and mixer...and it does have the ginger for sure!

I don't drink carbonated drinks now....but I do have a Diet Pepsi once in awhile.

Any DR who enjoys Vernor's might like to try a shake made with Vernor's and vanilla ice cream.  It is DEE-lightful!

TOD - Growing up in Detroit, I was supposed to like Vernor's Ginger Ale, but I didn't don't.  Guess that's because I'm not a native...

Faygo is another Detroit brand and I really liked their Rock 'n' Rye - kind of a Dr. Pepper flavor.

Never could figure out why that's called a Boston Cooler!

Oh dear, I have been asked to consider playing Philoktetes in a play called ACHILLES/ACHILLES SON....it is a very amusing play.....but I don't know......   I have never been in a play like this.......

This is a bit about the play that was worked on at DePauw last year and will be done in January....    :D

We keep almost no pop in the house.  When I want something fizzy, I drink LaCroix flavored waters or plain club soda with lemon or lime.

I like rye. Usually in an old fashioned. Or a rye sour. No soda.

Anybody know how long soda keeps? If I buy a case of Fresca before they ruin it, how long could I keep until it is ruined?

BK, re: the route that you mentioned here that is now no good. Is it possible that it varies? I know routes that are good 80% of the time. But depending on the day or time of day they can end up being backed up.

TOD:

The earliest soft drink I remember is Coca Cola (original "original" forumla).  I can reinforce this by relating that as a child of 3 or 4, I spied what I thought to be a glass of coke on a kitchen counter.  I pulled up a chair, took the glass and downed it.

It was bourbon.  My mother said I screamed bloody murder.

Other favorites (other than Coca-Cola, that is):  Dr. Pepper, 7-Up, Nehi Grape and Orange Crush.

I don't recall anything "outre" other than "Mountain Dew" and a Shasta soda I had at a picnic when I was on USS Carl Vinson.

I know it seems like I have been E and T lately, but that is because I have been. Well, I wasn't E and T yesterday, I just didn't have anything interesting to post...of course that does not usually stop me. It certainly won't stop me today, as you can see.

TOD:

As a kid Pepsi and Dr. Pepper were my favorites, but I wasn't all that picky. Enjoyed Orange Crush quite a lot, also.

Most outre would be some of the berry flavored Shasta drinks, I guess. I may have had some odd flavored sodas in Japan, but I do not recall off hand.

Planning for the Diwali event this Saturday is coming along....but holy cow, there is a lot of preparation for such an event!

I did get permission from the Fire Marshal for the buffet issue, so we no longer have to worry about food being cold.

And, so far we have sold over 350 tickets! That is a lot more than we had expected!

This has all been keeping me very busy the last two weeks or so. I will be relieved when it is over.

Great news about your upcoming event, DR MBarnum!  Yes, often when pursuing worthwhile projects you eventually just look forward to being finished with them.

Great news on the buffet. And the attendance. Hope you're able to enjoy it while it's happening.
