I'm feeling quiet today.  A dog I loved died from bloat last night :(

I'm so sorry to hear that, Jane.

I was up early today for a 9am eye exam. I felt like Vixmom. In fact, I think I have a bit of her cold. Just a bit. I was feeling feverish last night and just wanted to get through today's appointment, because this optometrist is difficult to schedule with. She dilated my eyes, plus we're making a small change to my new reading glasses. So I'm back to my back-up readers. Ugh.

Bruce, the theatre with the Newley/Bricusse show doesn't include it on their calendar. Just an oversight?

It will be on their calendar as soon as they get their art.  I don't profess to know and frankly I don't care how they do things - I can't figure any of it out and I just roll along - they have a subscription base of over 2500 people and we'll be sold out for the entire run just from them.  Any of my folks who need to see it will be fine - I'll do those arrangements.

You know, if we were down (heaven forbid) my inbox would be filled with people saying they couldn't get on.  But we're not down (thank heaven) and no one can be bothered to be here?  Wow.

OK. I couldn't figure out why it wasn't showing up.

To distract myself while I do laundry I have been researching books to possibly read.  Two lists came out with recommendations.

In-between, my brother sent me an email recommending a book he couldn't finish but thinks I would like as a book group pick, "The Infatuations" by Javier Marias.  Has anyone read it?

Good evening, everyone!

I'm popping on especially to wish BK and the cast a great preview tonight!! I hope it goes brilliantly.

I've been lost in the Dr. Who 50th Anniversary special today, and lovely things surrounding it. Yes, I am a Whovian.
Interesting to see that a half century ago, we lost JFK; the Brits bore The Doctor and 007.  Quite the year then, wasn't it?

I have Kritzerland work to do as well now. I hope everyone has a lovely weekend!

Came home from my niece's swim meet. Odd pool. They only had one 25 m pool. My pool has 3 X 25m. Where my niece does swim team they have at least 4 to 6 X 25 m pools.

They didn't have the results up by the time we left. So only saw how my niece did in 1 out of 4 events.

It is also interesting how they do the races. Boys and girls go against each other (but the placements are tallied separately). You're never really racing again the people you are swimming against. They just list the competitors by their times after everyone is finished.

In the summer swim meets each race is a race. The best swimmers swim first heat (the heat that counts in the totals). But in every race you get a ribbon 1st-6th. I think it's more exciting to watch this way.

My goodness.  Page three.  Are we setting some kind of a record here?  At 9:30 in the PM in the eastern time zone?

Not a Whovian, but I watched along with a couple of friends in my Inner Sanctum on the Good Plasma and the Big Speakers.  I enjoyed the spectacle.  They got the thrills.
