Wednesday morning greetings! Today is Mom's 95th birthday and, yes, I will spend some time with her this afternoon. While Richard is at cardiac rehab, though, I'm waiting for a delivery and keeping myself busy folding laundry, cleaning the family room, and getting out the good dishes for tomorrow's Thanksgiving extravaganza.

DR JRand, thank you for the birthday wishes for Mom. One of the things I have to do when I visit her is try to track down the package from us that UPS says they delivered to the front desk but that could not be found when she visited there yesterday afternoon to retrieve it. Color me ticked.

Good morning. Finally, a real day off. No work, but lots of play. Heading into SF this afternoon to see The Gershwin's Porgy and Bess which I'm excited and scared about. I'm seeing it because I feel I need to see some incarnation of a classic on stage in my life time, whether it be professional or otherwise. I'm taking "Smiley" with me, this will be his 4th musical... I hope this doesn't put a strain on our friendship (or whatever this is), it's not Rent or Wicked after all. Oy

Well, silly me...I just checked Amazon.com and it seems that I never ordered THE CANDIDATE. Looks like I got sidetracked with ordering the double feature of BAD GIRLS GO TO HELL / ANOTHER DAY, ANOTHER MAN, and forgot all about putting Mamie's film into my shopping basket.

Well, I will correct that error on payday.

And I am home from therapy. It wasn't the zoo i expected and I accused Lisa of trying to terrify me.

After that, the bank, the bus, and home. On the bus ride back, I flashed on my memory of my mother's last words to me before her death; it caught me totally by surprise today and really saddened me.

Back from the motor car servicing - front brakes only had thirty percent left and they were having a special, so got those done, got a new battery, since that seemed sketchy and the last one I got was from a service station near me and was out of warranty, and got new wipers and am all set now.
