Today is World AIDS Day.

Go to church and breathe deeply and remember that we love you here.

Good morning, all!  I slept in but I wish I'd slept in longer. Now that I'm up, Bach's Magnificat is on the stereo, I'm on my first cup of coffee, and pondering today's events. This week and next are Dublin weeks in Manhattan: this week Niall O'Sullivan, one of our wonderful trumpet players, is in town, and I hope to hear from him today or tomorrow. Next week, our brilliant pianist Vinny Lynch is in, and Rob Berman and I want to get-together with him.

So, todayI've got to dig in and finish up the Moross work. I've no plans to do anything else, depending on whether I hear from Niall,

DR TCB, how did last night's show go?

Watching ME Tv yesterday, I learned that Jerome Moross composed the main theme for the television series WAGON TRAIN.

DR VIXMOM that was a disturbing story.  The lawyer sounds like an ambulance chaser - to put it nicely.

I am a bit fraught at the moment, since Joshie was coming home from his family's in New England last night, and I want to know that he was not on this train. I've called his cell phone and left a message.

The train was a commuter train, so I doubt that's what Joshie was on. I'll be happier once I hear from him.

And from any point in New England, he wouldn't likely be coming down that Hudson Line at all.

But what a horrible story to start the month with.  It made me think of how many disasters seem to happen in the holiday season.  Of course they don't all happen then.  It's just a perceptual thing of the moment.  But I always think of Lockerbie and Pan Am.  And of course last December was about as horrible as it gets.

I'm on my way out to the wilds of Westport, CT, to hear a friend speak about her recent book at the public library there.  (Friend is author Stacy Horn, whose book Imperfect Harmony - Finding Happiness Singing With Others is earning very nice reviews and comment.

Sunday morning afternoon greetings!  I did not accompany Fr. Richard to Lima today so that I could have breakfast with my sister, her husband, and their daughter.  We said our goodbyes at Bob Evans, they headed for their homes in Michigan and Illinois, and I'm enjoying some solitude.
