Thank you all for the vibes -  Ben your advice was sound - a day at church helped immeasurably - I am so angry for the papers for posting all those horrid details-

I'm glad you are doing better.  You didn't need to read the details.

I am super excited. My library got Season 1 of Major Crimes. I wasn't sure that they would buy it since they don't have the Closer. But whoever ordered it probably only saw that it was season 1 and maybe didn't realize it was a spin-off series. Either way I cannot wait to see these characters again.

Enjoy!  I hope they get the rest of the series for you.

I had what was without doubt the best Shake Shack burger I've been served in the two or three years I've been eating them.

Which doesn't keep DR Ginny's and DH Richard's turkey and bacon sandwiches from sounding wonderful.

My wifi and my Nook don't always connect as they should.  Browsing my library wish list on my computer I saw a book I wanted was available.  It took me 15 minutes to finally get to the book using my Nook and by then someone had checked it out.

A Facebook friend in St Louis just posted that he's had no problems with the Obamacare website recently, so if anyone's needing insurance . . .

This is my public service announcement for the day.

Just remember you can't browse, you have to apply to see what's available.

That is lousy and unfair!!!!  It doesn't even seem legal to me.

you don't have to sign up and buy--- but the reason it is set up that way is so that people can see what  government assistance (if any) they are eligible for  so their pricing will be accurate

I wasn't expecting the details to be in the articles- they kept them under wraps when the murder first happened -

I have never had a turkey and bacon sandwich with leftovers - our favorite sandwich is turkey, cold stuffing, cranberry sauce and some cold gravy smeared both pieces of bread instead of mayo- best on whole multigrain bread (or toast)

Richard "inherited" the turkey and bacon sandwich from his father.  It's usually the morning-after breakfast, but we had to wait until after our football party.  For that I supplemented the leftover turkey with some new Honeybaked ham, so now we have THAT leftover   :)

So JohnG  how did the BarBq  hunt go?

I spent most of today with friends. Went to church, then to visit some friends who were making Baptist cakes for brunch. They are a type of rectangular doughnut that you fully immerse in the oil when you fry. I think I wrote about them last year because I made them for Christmas. These were better than mine. Much, much better.

Anyway, it felt good to be off the road for a day.

Glad to hear you're feeling a little better, Vixmom. Sad to say, but I could feel something about the story you posted yesterday and it kept me from reading it. And I'm glad I did. I'm glad someone's been arrested, though.

Same recipe or do you now have a new one for the next time you make these?

DR CILLA LIZ I a USB turntable from Audio Technica that has worked well for quite awhile.  It's very similar to to one that DR BEN linked.

http://www.amazon.com/Technica-AT-LP60USB-Automatic-Turntable-USB/dp/B002GYTPB8/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1385939661&sr=8-4&keywords=audio+technica+turntable

Nowadays they do have a turntable that records directly to a CD from the vinyl.  Of course you would probably still want to use some kind of software to clean up the audio....but the initial recording might be simpler.  This one is kind of expensive, but I imagine you can find the technology for less in an electronics store near you.

http://www.amazon.com/Teac-LP-R550USB-Recorder-Cassette-Turntable/dp/B006BUVP5M/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1385939388&sr=8-3&keywords=phono+cd+recorder

Thanks!  I was looking at some of the audio technical turntables.  I need three speeds, so it's more expensive, but an option.   I'm going to try the cables and converter I have if I can find the software online.  It's kind of a hassle, but it hooks right into my stereo and I think that turntable may be better with the old records than a cheap turntable.  If I can't make it work, I'm going to look at the suggested turntables

They were the ones who gave me the recipe. I doubt I will make them again this year. Always time to try something new. Plus, if we don't finish this book by Christmas, who knows if there will be a Christmas breakfast.
