When I heard Ashford was directing, I thought, this could either be good or as bad as watching a major train wreck, but either way, it's going to be fascinating and a must-see!

Except I'm going to a pig roast that night and will have to miss it.

Stand by, perhaps George will be taking orders!

I will at least be watching it.  The DVD is available for pre-order.

Bless you, my friend. Here's my order.

You're on the list. :)

He has a little list, he has a little list....

And now, I'm off to my sister's for some shopping.  She doesn't like to go shopping by herself so this time I have to go.

Be back later!

Does your sister have any idea how fortunate she is to have YOU as her brother?

Good to have a TV and DVD/CD player back.

Listening to Christmas with the Drifters, which arrived today. Santa Claus Got the Blues is really a fun song.

Enjoy.

I went a little crazy on Cyber Monday.  I started buying Bali insulated cellular shades for my house about 5 or 6 years ago. I have lots and lots of windows so over two years I covered maybe 1/2 of the windows.  Well today they were on sale for 50% and I could get 6 months same as cash and free delivery, so I bought all the rest.  It's a lot more than I wanted to spend, but they really do help keep the house warmer and I've been here for 7 years now.  Time to finish the window covering. I can't wait until they get here

Nice find.

Came home to discover that UPS left my new 40-inch TV on the front door step. I guess I didn't have to sign for it. But they can't leave a box of alcohol without my signing for it. Go figure.

well alcohol has to be delivered to someone of legal age to drink - but anyone of any age can steal a TV

I love your logic.

I know, I know.  A paperback book required me to go to the Post Office, but my passport was left on top of my door mat.

I have begun decking our hall living room, dining room, kitchen, and family room.  Can't do more until I have some daylight, which means Wednesday.  I'll be in Dayton much of tomorrow lunching with the grantwriters.

How ironic!  I just donned my gay apparel.

I am looking forward to the Sondheim documentary since I have [free] HBO now.

I just watched the MAKING OF THE SOUND OF MUSIC....and I beginning to feel the way DR JANE wrote last week.....seeing the kids in their auditions and sort of watching the process is making me more excited about the show.

.....I just hope they are really doing the musical script and not making a lot of fake build ups to commercials......

The article in TV Guide, or was it Entertainment Weekly; said they were not interested in remaking the movie, but wanted to present the original Broadway version on film.

P. S.:  I have no financial or artistic control over this production, so don't blame me if they screw it up!

I am holding you personally and entirely responsible for the whole thing... if I don't like it I will be filing a paypal dispute!

Oh no!  Anything but that.

Oy and vey, what a day.  I had a meal at noon - grilled cheese and bacon, then decided to go to K's Donuts - at one o'clock they had exactly one peanut butter chocolate thing left - I bought it, but I also found out the story of who is buying them all up each and every morning.  It will be in the notes.

Then I finished liner notes four, got them on their merry way, and did half of liner notes five, after which I had to be on my way to my editor's house to see his first cuts of the two Sandy Bainum music videos.  They were really excellent, and I only had one minor little change in each - so those are locked and done and I will post both of them in the notes.  I was there about two hours, then headed home.  Oh, and I picked up two packages - one contained the new book of Leonard Bernstein letters, the other Serpico Blu and Ray.  I put that in to see what it was like and what it was like was defective - a mass of digital blockage, so back it goes.  Of course, thanks to Cyber Monday, one can't even access the Amazon site.  I was intending to watch a motion picture and had started to do so, when I got a telephonic call that caused me to go absolutely ballistic.  I have been so good and nice about making adjustments in our show and trying things that I don't believe in at all - but yesterday I got a suggestion that I could not believe and I said no - via e-mail.  I said it was a number that was working perfectly at every run and every performance and that I was not willing to do anything to it.  And then I was asked again this evening - and I said no again and I mean it.  I would not even broach it with the actors involved and it's completely wrong-headed and on this one issue I'm not bending.  I have made a couple of comprises along the way, and now, I suppose, it's time for the compromise to come from the other direction.  I'm hoping we have no further discussion about it, because if we do I know Kay Cole will not be happy - she thinks it's just about the worst idea she's ever heard and she, too, dearly loves the number as I conceived it and will brook no changes to it - and believe me if you think I'm bad you should hear Kay Cole when she's not happy.

And that's what I've been up to - oh, and I spent the rest of the evening finishing liner notes five and getting them on their merry way.
