Well, you've read the notes, the notes were a mystery, and now it is time for you to post until the mysterious cows come home.

Good morning, all! With DR Ben on holiday, I've suddenly become the first poster after BK!  Whoda thunk it? And where are all the other early birds?

First thing, I am off to Toyland; I must be there in case UPS tries to deliver the package. I have to leave there no later than 12:45 to meet Niall at Lincoln Center by 1:30. If there's no delivery by then, I'll leave a net on the door since the company clearly paid no mind to their Special Instructions.

Tonight, I've committed myself to attend the first preview of LOVE, LINDA at the York. I wish I hadn't agreed to go, but I'm going. I hope I survive the effort of getting there and the crowds.

Surprisingly, since job offers usually don't come in between Thanksgiving and New Year's Day, I got an inquiry about some work. We'll see.

Today, I'm closing up my storage space and moving the stuff my wife hasn't made me toss out into our house.

I hate moving.

Yesterday, I watched STOP! YOU'RE KILLING ME (w/Broderick Crawford) on TCM.

That's the remake of A SLIGHT CASE OF MURDER (w/Edward G. Robinson), which was my high school senior play.

Brought back some happy memories.

  • Dance, if it makes you happy.

Good morning, all.

Great videos to start the day.

Elmore, perhaps your good news a result of all those HHW vibes. They have been known to work.

DR John G, I don't have the job yet.  I wish the HHW vibes would work on winning me the lottery so I'd have the funding to restore and record a lot of shows on my to-do list.

Greetings from Toyland! The bus ride from Columbus Circle to 27th Street was very slow; I guess we now are stuck in holiday traffic through Jan 2.

Madame, I Like Your Crepes Suzettes

I got a Decca 2-LP set at a garage sale for fifty cents....Danny Kaye's Greatest Hits....and the above song is really the only one I like on it....and it doesn't quite reach the comic heights of Red Skelton's performance (with Lucille Ball) in the movie version of DuBarry Was A Lady.

I am about to pack up everybody's junk and TAKE it to a storage unit. I want my house back.

There should be others, but it has been many moons since I have watched any other Danny Kaye films and I don't remember much about any of them.

What DR MBarnum said.  I should be able to list several favorites, and really can only come up with THE COURT JESTER and WHITE CHRISTMAS.  But I will add THE MAN FROM THE DINER'S CLUB even though I don't remember much of it.

  • The 1st HHW God!

I am 8 days away from my annual trek to South Carolina.  I fly out the evening of Dec. 11 and return sometime on the 26th or 127th (I don't recall my travel day, but I think it's the 26th).

I'm rather looking forward to this trip, but things will have changed a bit.  My cousin Dot died this past year.  We had always visited her on our annual trek to Spartanburg for the laying on of flowers upon graves (grandparents/great grandparents) and she always had lunch with us at Wade's (fabulous restaurant that serves home-style food).  Her daughter Karen always joined us and she has expressed interest in joining us this year if we were planning to eat at Wade's.  We have set a date (the second week I'm there) for this trek/lunch.

I have decided to do no "local' decorating this season.  Will be decorating my mom's tree next week, and I think that will be plenty for me.  There will also be no office decorations on my part.  It makes no sense to put something up, go away and then return to take it down.   I can be just as festive humming Christmas carols as I can be while looking at lights.

No humbug from me....just different priorities, I guess.   And I'm older and feel it.

I didn;t know Sheena Easton was still doing concerts.  This is from a few months ago.

Yes, I would have guessed Sheena Easton had retired long ago. LOL!

Hmmm...makes me wonder what Sheila E. is doing now-a-days?
