I got my flu shot today. Seems a bit late. But this is the first day they were doing them in the same building as my library. And I didn't feel like driving to another place I did not know.

Last night I was able to check out just a few scenes of THE UMBRELLAS OF CHERBOURG Blu-ray, and what a stunningly beautiful thing it is.

Today's package from the UK consists of SPIDER BABY, BRIDES OF DRACULA, EVIL OF FRANKENSTEIN, and ACCIDENT on Blu-ray, and MOTHER JOAN OF THE ANGELS on DVD, something I've been very curious about and had in my Amazon UK ~~cart~~ basket for the longest time. It's a Polish story concerning exorcism, a gaggle of nuns, and a priest dealing with his own demons. Sound familiar? It certainly will to DR Elmore. I'm hoping I'll be in the mood to watch it tonight. That's the plan, at least.

I'm listening to The Sound of Music (Music From the NBC Television Event). Surprisingly, I like it...so far. I'm only on the third track, but it's enjoyable. I certainly will compare with the actual "live" broadcast.

It's been a long day. I left Toyland at 12:20, waited 20 minutes for one of the two buses that should have arrived at either 12:28 or 12:38, and got to Lincoln Center at 1:25. Niall showed up shortly thereafter. We visited until 4:00, and I'm hem for another hour, when I leave for the York. I do not want to go, but I've committed myself. Hopefully, I'll be home by 9:30 to 10.

Her daughter Karen always joined us and she has expressed interest in joining us this year if we were planning to eat at Wade's. We have set a date (the second week I'm there) for this trek/lunch.

I have decided to do no "local' decorating this season. Will be decorating my mom's tree next week, and I think that will be plenty for me. There will also be no office decorations on my part. It makes no sense to put something up, go away and then return to take it down. I can be just as festive humming Christmas carols as I can be while looking at lights.

No humbug from me....just different priorities, I guess. And I'm older and feel it.
