So, it looks as though the York may present a reading of Christmas Up The Holler on December 18 or 19, if DJ and I can get a cast together. Steve McIntyre, our moonshiner Wilmer, is out on the road in the cast of ONCE so we'd have to find someone for that role, but I'm hoping we can get it together. My only stipulation is that it has to be more solid than the one we presented last time. It was a little too loose for the public to watch!.

Great news, Larry.

Lovely seeing you tonight at the theater.

  • A person should celebrate what passes by.

Well, it's time for me to leave work.  I want to get a headphone extender for my new headphones that I use at work.  I hate it when the cord is too short. :P Hopefully, Radio Shack is still open.

Be back later!

After work today I went for my yearly eye exam  we have been using the optometrist at the local Costco for the past several years   She gives such a wonderful exam and I have always been happy with my glasses

Toay she told me that my eyes have actually improved a little since my last exam!

I bought a new pair of titanium frames, progressive lenses with super high index thin lenses , polished edges and scratch resistant coating  - $209.00 with tax included!  At Lens Crafters - even after our AAA 30% discount I never walked away for less that $600 -

  • Dance, if it makes you happy.

And the critic for THE SUBURBAN TIMES writes:
Tom Birkeland is the dominating Mr. Potter. And Birkeland dominates the play in the part.  He turns in an excellent job of the hateful old man, one of the American Film Institute’s 100 greatest villains.  It’s been a long time since Birkeland has graced Tacoma’s boards with his talents; it’s nice to have him back.

Bravo, DR TCB!

Yee and haw! Hoo and ray!

Costco has amazing prices on glasses. They don't let you reuse your old frames, which I prefer to do, so it doesn't work well for me, but you cannot beat the prices.

Glad to hear it. I hope it happens and you have the time and cast you need.

Would someone give John G some barbeque for Christmas? I don't think he gets enough of it.

Ironically, I believe the other good review "the nuanced performance" or whatever it said was written following the opening night performance.

Okay, now I am just showing off.  From reviewer, Michael Dresdner's Blog:

Quote
I must admit that I was particularly eager to see Tom Birkeland, who plays the wheelchair-bound Mr. Potter, George’s nemesis and the wealthiest, crankiest man in town. Birkeland has long been one of the South Sound’s most outstanding actors, but has been on medical hiatus for a number of years. He’s lost nothing; his performance was balanced, powerful, and flawless, and easily the shining light of the play. It’s nice to see the old timers showing the young how it’s done.
