I'll probably finish this room that week, then I'll be ready when the shades come in.

It's been fairly slow at the office lately so, we discussed it today and for the first time we're closing for a week at Christmas.   With the holiday on Wednesday, it's going to be very difficult to get work done that week, so what the heck.  Edith was very excited about it.

wow oh wow  lucky edith!

It's -5 air temp right now not counting the windchill.  I've moved from my usual spot in the living room, which is one of the coldest spots in the house - to the room I'm 1/2 way through remodeling.  It's a lot warmer up here.  It's Callie's room, so she likes that we gather here.

It's 28° in Olympia...practically balmy in comparison. ;)

I get that The Sound of Music wasn't perfect last night, but I also know lots of people who never go to the theater and who watched it and enjoyed it.  I think it was a great chance to remind people about how much fun they had in a high school or college musical or maybe it's the first time their kids saw a musical.  I think having live theater on tv is fabulous.  It doesn't have to be perfect, live productions never are.

And on that note (B-natural), I'm leaving work.  I have to close the building, which is not difficult or unusual.  I tend to stay late because I get in late.

Anyway, be back later!

I'm lucky to have her.  With the cash flow not sure there's going to be enough for a raise next year, but she said she'd rather have the extra week of pd vacation.   I can do that

  • Dance, if it makes you happy.

Watching an Esther Williams flick called Fiesta, in which she plays the twin of Ricardo Montalban. Once you get past that nonsense, you get Ricardo dancing with Cyd Charisse to an early version of La Bamba. Quite wonderful:

Just drove home from the thea-tuh in a cold rain which I can now hear hitting a skylight as sleet.

The web sites seem to be agreeing with each other that we could get about an inch of snow by morning.  But then nothing much till Monday or Tuesday when they're calling for freezing rain.  I guess I'd better not be complainin'!

Only three Grammy nominees for best cast album, and all three overly commercial: Kinky Boots, Matilda and Motown.

Yawn.

The show was great tonight - wonderfully receptive crowd (about thirty-two, which out of forty seats is almost a sellout).  I beat it out of there pretty quickly after talking to a few folks.  Too much going on to hang out for long.
